What Are You Doing Today?

Vitamin B shot and 45 minutes to kill. Kohl’s was a bust. Clearance mostly damaged by overhandling, Fall merchandise all the same drab colors and screaming cheap. Sprouts, super regional health food, had nothing in the produce department that was not faint. Is that why they dimmed the lights. My jeans were in and my contact was happy, happy about a sampler box of salsas, sauces.
SO got me a Neuro appointment for Thursday morning. All he has to do is read the Audiology report which says nothing mechanical but a one time event in the past makes me dizzy. I can tell him what it was and all I need is his sign off for physical therapy.
Two laundry buckets of peppers are separated for processing. Most will have to wait in the fridge until tomorrow. One pork loin turned into sausage crumbles which I use as base for a lot of SO’s breakfasts.

I was fretting about all the things that need doing before the rain and wind tonite. I settled on harvesting nettle seeds. We have a LOT of nettle this year and not much else in the garden because of crappy conditions. I've got BAGS of seed heads and am no where near done. I definitely did not want all these seeds to drop back into the garden. We have enough! The seeds can be a super food. My daughter pointed out, as I have told her, that the roots are also important and can be harvested in the spring along with the new sprouts.
Sounds like a lot of work. But we need to slap the garden back into place.
I had wanted to try making spinning fiber out of nettle stalks this year but it appears that as one harvests the seed, too many side branches appear.
Who knew? We've only used nettle as a vegetable up until now.
Rumor had it that the nettle stings are good for arthritis. As I got fed up with my heavy gloves harvesting, I threw them in a bag and was working gloveless. I guess it is sort of true.
: )

So, this morning the septic inspector showed up at 6, as he said he would. He came in a fancy Tesla instead of a pump truck. and was kind of whiny. I had gotten a flyer in the mail that said, unbeknownst to many, you don't actually have to have one's tank pumped out with the required 3 year law if the solids and slime is below a certain amount. He said the 3 year law went into effect a while back but many systems were used for 20-30 years with no problem before it. It never said that pumping was required each time, only inspection but in the lower parts of the state, no one seems aware of that. So he inspected my tank and field and said my baffles were fine. But he complained because my tank is under my lower deck and it was covered with raccoon poop. Raccoon poop/people poop, neither would be my choice of work but I have dealt with poop most of my life and have sometimes been whiny about it too.
I wonder if this should have been put under the "things of interest" thread.
To keep on topic, it is kind of rainy today so I might spend a substantial amount of time on papers.

Still having coffee at 8:12 in the morning. I am a bit anxiety ridden waiting to here from my friend that I met on here 3 years ago.
@Beth Gallagher - knows who I am talking about. We have been online friends only as she lives in Canada. We text everyday for three years. Trying to be patient to see how she is.
I have house chores to do, meals to figure out, washing to do, bed to make, but finding it hard to move as my concern lies with her.

Pick up the phone please.

The dining table will be delivered Friday. So washing blinds, scrubbing windows, roll up the beast of a rug to scrub the floor. I am excited! A round table is something wanted forever.
Three buckets of peppers will be afternoon entertainment.

I remember her, too, @Hedi Mitchell , and wondered how she was doing. Did she ever get the heart procedure done that she was hoping for ?

Yvonne.. Julia as yall knew her has had numerous procedures since she was three.. Another makes no real difference now.
we have known since last year the end for her will be soon. I did text her,she sent me a X which meant she as awake.
She has been in ER since later yesterday afternoon..still waiting for a room! Free medical in Canada.
However her condition alone puts her bottom of the list. When time comes will tell you more about her. Thanks for asking.

Thank you for sharing that, Hedi ! I remember that she was not doing well even back when she was on the first SOC, and that she was hoping for some procedure that she thought might help her.
If she is now in the ER, that does sound like she is much worse. We will add her to our prayers, and when you message her again, let her know that people here do remember her her, and send her a virtual hug from me, too, please.

I hope you hear from Julia soon, @Hedi Mitchell . Tell her that her friends on SOC are thinking of her.

We are about to head out to run errands and in search of a bird bath. I decided to put a "garden feature" where we dug that dead shrub out yesterday. A bird bath will be something I don't need to worry about keeping trimmed and fertilized. At this point I wouldn't mind paving the entire yard.

Add me to the prayer list. Julia seemed such a sweet gentle soul on SOC1
