Is Trump a Life Challenge?

I am very much against presidents or congress giving away our national lands and parks to development. Whether to the lumber companies or mining interests. National lands belong to the people in my opinion, not the government or presidents. They were set aside for the nation. We don't lease them out for a decent gain for the country's coffers. We get the shaft in most contracts.

But, then again, people are still deranged over Trump and things they don't understand and won't research.

Good afternoon to all-

Yes. the First Felon IS a life challenge.

He has no notion of the value of wild, undeveloped lands which benefit us all. Instead, he sees any
"undeveloped" land as a waste of money-making opportunity- whether for mining. logging or golf course construction...

And to be accurate, the "derangement" so rampant right now comes mostly from the First Felon's words and actions- not the people who point out the damage he and his supporters are doing.

you all be safe and keep well- and confusion to the republicans

National parks and National public lands is a Progressive idea first actualized by (I think) Theodore Roosevelt. Not everything the Progressives advocate is bad, although most is. Under the Constitution, the public lands belong to the states local governments, not the Federal government. Although the idea of the Federal government owning land for specific purposes is perhaps allowable, vast tracts under the management of the BLM within state borders is clearly not Constitutional. The water were muddied by the fact that much of U.S. land was not organized into states for many decades. Although some/many of the deficiencies left by the Constitutional Convention were addressed a few years later by the Northwest Ordinance, the ninth and tenth amendments have been largely ignored by the Progressives and undereducated in recent times.

If he is reducing the amount of land included within monuments, it is totally within the powers of the President, but can be overridden by Congress should they choose to do so.

Now, now, @Ed Delabama , you promised to avoid politics. A gentleman always keeps his promises. 🤨

Unfortunately, much of the land the government owns is treated as private resorts for the elite and the politically connected, while the general public is prohibited. The same is true of land that has been put in the hands of various land conservation groups, often at the public's expense.

Honestly, I'm tired of Trump and not sure I want 2 more years. Sadly the Democrats are bat-shit crazy and getting worse by the minute, so Trump is the best solution at this time.

I'm sick and tired of everything in the USA being about Trump. Why did he parade around at the awards ceremony of the World Cup like he had anything to do with it? Let the athletes have their moment; they EARNED it. What a pompous ass and embarrassment to the country. That ego is just irritating. And don't get me started on renaming every landmark in the country to "Trump Whatever." Seriously?? I was thrilled when they stripped his name off the Kennedy Center. Some things are best left alone.

So I'm not sure what I think of the National Parks thing. I'll have to read more about that to see if I'm mad or not.

Good afternoon to all-

I wondered how long I could post here before I offended someone. Not long it seems. I posted an honest opinion in reply to a question asked here- but I suppose that sort of thing is not acceptable here.

I'm sorry that the thin-skinned persons here find my honest posts to be BS and that I am not a "gentleman" for posting things the way I see them. I am weary of people who are so insecure in their own beliefs and thinking that anyone who says anything which does not follow along with their opinions is "BS and not a gentleman".

And I'll stand by every point that I made- whether you folks agree or not- doesn't really matter to me at all.

Ed, what happened to no politics?

I think that the second one is fake/staged??, not as sure about the first one, but I believe it may be as well.

C'mon, Ed. It's not like you don't try.
Good evening to all-

I do try- to tell the truth. If the truth makes certain folks angry or insecure, that's unfortunate. I can't lie and say that I approve of what is said or done by vile, lying, abusive old men in positions of power.

I must assume- according to some folks here- that I should not respond to the hard, political questions in a truthful manner. Sorry, I can't lie. I won't lie.

Guess I'll read and not reply.

you all be safe and keep well- and cofusion to the republicans

Presidents have been handing off our lands long before Trump but I am saddened he is doing it too.

I started this thread to discuss some things and you came out with insults. I am not thin skinned but I don't care to fight. We can agree or not but your jabs don't help.

None of us are thin-skinned, but when insults are handed out we are going to respond. Ed likes to be snide with his remarks to try to get a rise out of some, but when he's reminded of his own pledge to "avoid politics" he gets ruffled.

Good morning to all-

Let me correct you- I don't do "impressions." I speak the truth and if it offends someone, it's still the truth I say.

And if you are insulted by the truth, then it's your problem, not mine.

And I did not "pledge" anything.

I try to avoid politics.

Everyone’s perception of truth is different. You can best express yous at the polls.

Good! A hex.
Democrats are the most confused political party. It used to be for the good of the people and love of country. I cried when President Kennedy was shot. Not at the death of any other president.
Even though he was a womanizer and his family was out for what they could get, reading PT 109 gave me a sense of the bravery of the man.
Trump is also giving his all for his country which can help him as well. Standing up after being shot, although not severely, he could not know if another shot might be coming.
Being convicted of paperwork felonies does not impress me. Hundreds in Congress have broken the laws--or used them--or made themselves exempt to the laws they passed.
Electing a puppet with dementia so that others could run the country, or not, and to allow it to be invaded--no, cause it to be invaded, impresses me--that the democratic party has fallen so low.
