Don, hopefully it's just the belt.On my way to get the mail the power steering in my truck went out. It is a bear to steer without the boost. It is too cold outside to deal with it and the truck doesn't fit easily into my garage. Wife's car is in the garage anyway, and I don't want her to have to deal with the cold. I can't get parts until tomorrow anyway (if I can even figure out what is wrong).
I looked at the belt, but it looked okay at first glance. The fluid was empty, so I may have a leak, but I didn't see it with just a cursory glance. It hasn't gotten above -20 F. today, so I will be staying inside except to check on chickens and such.Don, hopefully it's just the belt.
When I warms up I definitely will get my truck steering attended to. It is already a dance to drive. but won't till springI looked at the belt, but it looked okay at first glance. I haven't been driving my old truck for a few days, but the steering was working fine last time I used it. I don't know why they would need your birth certificate unless you are getting a Real ID.
The Real ID is now required for air travel. You can use a passport, but the TSA up here discourages domestic travelers from using it. I guess it is harder to track your travels with passports, but it can be done. It is also supposed to be proof of citizenship I think, but that CDL guy in New York used "No Name Given" on his Real ID and New York granted his license with that name on his Real ID card.Good it's working fine, Don; and I guess that's what they call them now, a real ID, with a "star", they say you don't have to show a birth certificate, not so sure what they're up to anymore.

Since I don't plan on flying and have a passport anyhow, I will retain my "fake ID," and say no to "real ID."
