Miscellaneous One Off News Stories

They announced that Senator Lindsey Graham just passed away last night, from a sudden and unexpected illness. He was apparently in the hospital and died that, but as of yet, I am not seeing anymore information about what he died from, just that it was sudden.
People are still saying that Mitch McConnell is either brain dead, or just dead. His wife has never been to the hospital where he was supposedly taken to, instead she went to China to meet with important people there.
Neighbors who were there when the EMT’s took McConnell away said that he was already dead when they put him into the ambulance, and other reports are saying that someone has been moving furniture and such out of their home already, as well.

Graham was only 71. I can't find a cause of death, either.
Who the heck knows what's going on with McConnell.

edit to add: The 911 call was for a "cardiac event."

Senator Graham had just returned from Ukraine shortly before he passed away, so the rumors are rampant about the cause of death at this point, from what i am seeing. Many people think it was a heart attack, possibly from a blood clot caused by the long 9 hour flight back home from Ukraine.
Iran also had Graham on their “kill list”, so it is possible that he could have been poisoned at some point.
Another interesting story is because the Senator was just at an ammunition factory in Ukraine and then the factory was immediately blown up by Russia, it that Graham was actually killed in Ukraine, and they do not want to release that information, so they are saying he came home and then died.
 
I don't jump into conspiracy theories, so I'll just accept that it was probably a heart attack. From USA Today..

"Graham's office announced that he passed away on Saturday, July 11, due to a "brief and sudden illness." Emergency personnel said they were conducting CPR on a man suffering from cardiac arrest at an address listed as Graham's DC home, according to public safety radio feeds reviewed by USA TODAY. His cause of death still had not been publicly confirmed as of Sunday afternoon. He was 71."

The tear in the inner wall of the aorta, called an aortic dissection, was related to the hardening of Graham's arteries. An official cause of death will be disclosed after toxicological and microscopic testing.

That aortic dissection is called The Widow Maker. It's what got John Ritter. Things happen fast.

I was in a non-profit with a guy who had an aortic dissection before I knew him. Happened in his driveway when he was working on his car. I forget how he got help in time to save him, or if the dissection was only partial so it bought him time. This is out in the sticks, not around the corner from medical care.

I assume your nephew survived? This all reminds me that I need another Vascular Screening. I've had one and everything was fine. My GP recommended another one since it's been a while. I've reached a point where I'm loathe to search for things to be wrong.

No, my nephew died; he was only 40 years old.
 
I have a friend who has an aortic aneurism. They found it when they were doing tests for another problem, otherwise she would never have known about it. If it was to blow, she would be dead in minutes, leaving a torn spot. That is what it sounds like happened to Senator Graham.
