Sometimes we girls, have to take one in the tail ... bone that is!![]()
Thank you Marie, this morning I almost went to er. The er's here are full of people with these viruses going around.
You’ve got a stomach bug. And while a few different germs could be to blame, chances are it’s the dreaded norovirus, the most common cause of these symptoms. Each year, norovirus sickens about 20 million Americans and causes around 900 deaths, mostly among adults 65 and older.

Stomach Bug? It Could Be Norovirus
What to do if you catch the highly contagious virus — and tips for avoiding it during outbreakswww.bing.com
Marie you sound like a dear friend of mine. For two years she has been hibernating with her dog. Everything is Covid this Covid that. She lost a lot of weight and recently had a front tooth fall out. She will not see a doctor because her body will heal itself. She is 70 and was a holy terror running a huge admin department in three languages. Where did she go? I really miss her but call her once a week.I'll keep doing what online doctors say for one more day, then I'll take my chance at er the next day.
So far this kind of strain is said to cause 3 to 6 months to heal. It's been 3 months now. And I've had it with the locked inside and extreme pain at times.
Marie, this pain spreading like it is seems to me like you have something else going on besides just muscle or ligament pain from the squats. Pain that moves like that sounds more like what gout does, which is a type of arthritis that often hits the foot or toe, but can move around to joints anywhere on the body. The pain in tailbone this a.m. was 'astronomical! I took Tylenol and applied heat. Hurt all night long so I got up at 5'30 am.
It moves from tailbone to knees, calves, thighs and makes me sick at my stomach.
I have has worse pain but it didn't last for months.
It's making me mean.
I have moving pain as well @Marie Mallory. Docs don't seem to be able to help me. That is why I got involved with the patches. I wish you good luck with it. Like @Yvonne Smith mentioned, I first thought it could be gout, but it has effectively been ruled out. A little bit of pain in the knee today from doing fence repair in the deep snow yesterday, but nothing I cannot handle. Last year's moving pain was much worse than this year, and last year it seemed to be cured by a course of Augmentin. This year is is much more localized and appears to be going away as the days get longer. The pain in tailbone this a.m. was 'astronomical! I took Tylenol and applied heat. Not suggesting that as a remedy for everyone, or anyone else actually. It is a prescription antibiotic that was given for an eye infection but all the other pains vanished as well. I had streptococcal arthritis when in high school, was hospitalized to cure and it returned in milder form the following year. so perhaps this was a repeat of that very serious issue. If it was, the docs here were not smart enough to diagnose it. The strep arthritis was a type of rheumatic fever and I was told at the time I would suffer from rheumatic heart disease in later years. That never happened.I'll google Augmentin and check that out too. From what I read about pulling muscle it can las as long as a year, usually 3 to 6 months.
On the note of “immobilization”, adhesive K-tape has been a huge help on that front. I normally get it from Amazon in rolls of 10” strips and use the stuff religiously on areas that I injure more than I intended and depending on the exercise, on areas that “might” get injured without it.Not suggesting that as a remedy for everyone, or anyone else actually. I would think that perhaps you have a torn ligament or tendon. Have you ever taken any antibiotic whose name ended in "oxacin" @Marie Mallory? Ciprofloxacin is the most commonly prescribed drug of the fluoroquinolones and they are know to cause muscle, ligament and tendon issues, especially in people over 60 years. Anyway, a torn tendon, ligament or muscle are usually treated by immobilization to allow the tissue to repair itself.
Marie, you are treating symptoms with on line layman research.Don, we went online soon as you suggested the Salonpas patches [ wearing one now],ordered them and I used for 3 days now, they do help.Thanks. Amazon sent us extra Salonpas and Ice Hot, some other kind.
We called them told them we didn't order the other 2 products, they said just keep it, no charge.
She doesn't have to, since this forum has the top medical experts on the internet.Marie, you are treating symptoms with on line layman research.

It might be that trying some MSM might help you to heal faster, @Marie Mallory . Pain medication does not do anything to actually stop whatever is causing the pain or help you to heal from it, pain medication just blocks your feeling of the pain so that you are not hurting as much. The MSM will actually help your body to heal and work better, and you can simply add it to what you are already doing. Not that I know of.
Don, It's been over 3 months now, so I'm trying to rest, then slowly walk, add patches you advised and they do help ,heat pad, elevation and half a Tylenol 2 times a day.I sit on doughnut cushion too.
My niece recently had pain in her tailbone area. It turned out to be cancer.
I don't think the MainStream Media does anyone any good.It might be that trying some MSM might help you to heal faster, @Marie Mallory .
I absolutely agree with you. Way too much self diagnosis and medication. It may walk like a duck, quack like a duck what what kind of duck is it?I don't think the MainStream Media does anyone any good.
