Healing as we grow older

I think the worse “mess up” and the hardest thing to repair is being dishonest with ourselves.

Simple example comes with two words:
I can’t.

If there’s a REAL reason for “I can’t”, it is one thing but those two words have caused more mental and physical health dangers than anything else I can think of.

“I’ll try” (slowly and with caution) is a much better attitude than simply not trying at all.

Bobby this pain today is real bad in my tailbone, it's making me sick.
We just ordered a doughnut cushion to sit on.
Favoring my thighs and calves caused too much pressure on bony ass bone! I'm almost ready to scream, well to think of it, I already did that too.

You may need to go to the doctor, Marie to have it checked out, if the pain doesn't improve, or gets worse. Have you tried to sit in a tub of warm epson salt? Sometimes that helps to relax muscles and improve the blood flow to help reduce pain.

Marie, it may be time to see a white coat. There could be damage you cannot identify and your corrections are aggravating the problem.

No Krystal no rub soak yet, but thanks for reminding me. I will try that in a couple hours.
I've researched it pretty good and don't think a doctor now is necessary, plus I hear hospital's are full of flu's, viruses etc. from plaques going around here.
Jake made me a temp doughnut to sit on from form cushion, he cut the center out of it, that seems to be taking some of the pressure off the tailbone.
My right calve hurts knees want to go out, thighs are screwed up.
If I could walk around more it would help with anxiety.
Thanks y'all for letting me complain and vent.

It seems like many doctors do not offer much help except for pain medication nowadays, but at least they can help identify what is causing the problem, so you have some idea what you are trying to help heal.
It appears like this has spread beyond your original hurt thigh muscles from doing those squats, and maybe they are just slow healing if you pulled something really bad.

What helps me is DMSO, MSM, magnesium before bedtime, (epsom salt soak will add magnesium through your skin), and doing the pineapple fast if I am too stove up to move at all. The vibration plate helps with circulation, and also with lymph, and I do think that I feel better after standing on it for the 10 minute session.

I am now adding MSM powder to my morning protein drink, and then I sip it on and off during the day, keeping it in the fridge the rest of the time. My left hip has had me hobbling along for the last month for an unknown reason, but it is slowly getting better, and I am walking a little bit more each day which seems to help once i get started with the walking.

Yvonne what is MSM powder, I do have some Epsom Salt I'm going soak in.
I researched this and it said it can take a while to heal. Older people sometimes a year,, not good, huh?

MSM is similar to DMSO, in that it is a sulfur compound, but it comes in a powder form that is easier to ingest than the DMSO, which is better to use on your skin as therapy there. I take around a half teaspoon or so in my morning protein drink, and you can’t even taste it in there, but some people just drink it with a little water, too.
I buy mine in a 1 lb container on amazon, it is about $13 and is sold by Best Naturals. Here is a short video that explains about MSM, but if you are interested, YT has a lot of other ones that go into more length.

Thank you Marie. It may come to that. I'll be doing ok for a while ,then it comes back.
I think the doughnut jake made is helping some now.
As I mentioned before, “get a better cushion to sit on” was the only advice I got from my doctor when I complained of a self diagnosed sciatic nerve problem.
Yes, I got a better cushion but being the slightly belligerent person that I can be, I saw my chiropractor and after 2-3 sessions, I think the impinged nerve is healing up.

Thankfully, my chiropractor isn’t afraid to work on older folks [and as a matter of fact, that’s about all I see in the waiting room] and as another fact, he isn’t afraid to tell a patient that they need a medical doctor. .
Note: When I did a little research about seniors and chiropractic medicine, a few chiropractors are afraid to perform due diligence because of a senior’s propensity to have brittle bones and such.

Bobby, I could have saved myself some pain if Jake had of made this doughnut sooner. I also ordered one on Amazon, it will be here tomorrow.

With my "roving pain" I have become a real fan of patches, especially the Salonpas brand that contain Methyl salicylate, camphor and menthol. Nothing seems to work better for me. I have tried DMSO, Voltaren, and many other things, but nothing has quite matched the patches. There is a cream that is marketed by Walgreens that also contains capsaicin which helps me as well. I cant recommend anything for others, but that is what seems to work best for me. As @Lois E. Winters has FUO, I have PUO as nobody yet has found what is causing my pain and why it moves.

Don, we will order some of that too, thanks.

The pain in tailbone this a.m. was 'astronomical! I took Tylenol and applied heat. Hurt all night long so I got up at 5'30 am.
It moves from tailbone to knees, calves, thighs and makes me sick at my stomach.
I have has worse pain but it didn't last for months.
It's making me mean.

Prolonged pain can make you mean and miserable and can cause other issues as your body tries to compensate. Please see a doctor, more likely several. This is not normal.

Thank you Marie, this morning I almost went to er. The er's here are full of people with these viruses going around.

You’ve got a stomach bug. And while a few different germs could be to blame, chances are it’s the dreaded norovirus, the most common cause of these symptoms. Each year, norovirus sickens about 20 million Americans and causes around 900 deaths, mostly among adults 65 and older.

Go see a doctor for sure. I had the same problem years ago and it required meds. They gave me a shot in it and while it hurt for a few more days, it finally left and never has returned.

I'll keep doing what online doctors say for one more day, then I'll take my chance at er the next day.
So far this kind of strain is said to cause 3 to 6 months to heal. It's been 3 months now. And I've had it with the locked inside and extreme pain at times.
