For several days after the shootings, the shooter was described as a heavy drinker, yet now the casino people are saying that in the several years that he came to the casinos, he never drank alcoholic beverages.

Yes, I just heard that from Steve Wynn which surprised me because last week I read he drank a lot.

Guess there's a lot of information that isn't factual.

I also heard last week that the note was on yellow paper, today I heard someone say it was pink.

Like I said, I haven't been watching the news about it. Did he leave a note?

No suicide note, just a note with some numbers on it. They say it's distances and angles and trajectories for the best shot.

I'm still wondering; WHY? He had everything a man could want except for somebody who loved him. Could that have anything to do with it?

I doubt it...he wasn't UNLOVED. He had a GF, some family....he sent his mom a walker not too long ago.

He was a compulsive gambler...that can't be too fun...he might have been sick of his life but I don't know why he killed others....no sense to that.

He "Sent' her a walker. I wonder how long it had been since he had visited her. I think I read that his brothers hadn't had contact with him in months. One hadn't seen him in years.
Besides that, Medicare would have paid for her to have a walker.

I have no idea, Shirley. That's what his brother said.

Maybe he sent her a nicer one than Medicare covers...

I haven't seen my brother or sister in more than a year...they live far from me...means nothing. We're a close family but just can't get together a lot because of distance, and commitments.

I feel like I'm pretty close with my brothers but we sometimes go more than a year without speaking, and it's been about five years since I have seen any of them. A couple of them are on Facebook, so I'm more often in contact with them, but we're a long way away to visit regularly and we just don't think of calling. True, he had enough money to be able to travel more often, and he wasn't tied to a job but maybe it's a guy thing, to not reach out very often.

Nope. Not a guy thing. My brothers and I are in contact often and we never say goodbye without saying I love you. The guys even say it to each other. It's, "I love you, man."

Despite a clear story about the hotel security guard being shot at the end of the shooting spree, as he responded to the shots that were being fired, we're now told that he was shot a full eleven minutes before the shooting spree began? That begs more questions than it answers, I think. If two hundred rounds were fired through the door at the security guard, wounding him, eleven minutes before the shooting spree began, what was going on during that eleven minutes? Did no one in the hotel notice two hundred rounds being fire through a door into the hallway? Did the guard decide to keep it to himself, and not tell anyone? He was supposed to have alerted a maintenance worker who had come to the floor so, in the event that the security guard was too badly injured to alert anyone, wouldn't the maintenance worker have done so? For that matter, the security guard was supposed to have shown the police which room the shooter was in, so he must have recovered by that point. Maybe there will be more information given to us that might answer some of these questions, but so far it's not making sense. Eleven minutes is a long time, and this hotel was not in the middle of nowhere, where it would take the police a long time to get there.

I don't know...Ive been in Vegas and it takes a long time to get anywhere. Even from the lobby to your room.

And the streets are very crowded also.

As for the rooms, most people are either sleeping or gambling. At 10:00pm I would bet most rooms were empty...just my opinion from what Ive seen in Vegas when I was there a few times.

I've been in Vegas too and, aside from the masses of security that each casino employs, there are police everywhere. Plus, the casinos are wired with cameras covering everything except, perhaps, inside the rooms themselves.

Yes, that's true but I would say most of the security is in the casino.

True. Eleven minutes is a long time, though. If we had an eleven minute response time while I was a paramedic, we'd worry about getting sued, and the police were usually on the scene before we were. And this was in a rural area. In the city, the paramedics are expected to be there in a couple of minutes. There are exceptions of course, but I think that two hundred rounds fired at a security guard wouldn't qualify as an exception. I don't know that it means anything, and there may well be a good answers to these questions, but we haven't heard them yet.

I don't think the time difference means anything in the motive but may cause the Mandalay Bay some problems with lawsuits.

They changed the story again. Now they are saying that as soon as the maintenance man called in to report shots fired on the floor (at the hotel security guy), armed hotel security went up to the floor and "began to take care of the situation," whatever that means, because at that time he was shooting people at the concert. There also seems to be a discrepancy as to when the shooter checked in, yet I would think all of that would be in the computers and easily accessible.

My guess is that when the hotel management thought that they were dealing only with a guy who had wounded one of their employees, they were interested in containing the situation so as to be able to control the publicity. For that reason, they sent their own security up without calling the Las Vegas Police Department. Then when he began firing at the crowd at the concert, they were left having to cover up their own delay in calling for help, so they lied about some of the facts. As everyone began looking at it, the timetable didn't pan out, so they adjusted the story, and then they adjusted it again because now they are looking at lawsuits from hundreds of people who were wounded, as well as the family members of the dead. I am basing this on absolutely nothing other than seeking a way to make sense out of the changing stories.

I honestly don't see how a lawsuit against the hotel can be justified. As @Ken Anderson said, they must have thought it was just someone who shot an employee. There is no way they could have known he was going to shoot people outside the hotel.

As more information comes out and by the Alternative media because the MSN wants to bury this as fast as possible. No one is asking did the bullets recovered match his guns, how many shell casing were in the room, was he an arms dealer that is why he had so many registered guns on display. In an interview his brother said he was a arm___ and then caught himself and fumbled around trying to give an excuse for what he said.

There were lots of bullets and shell casings ...I'm sure they're working on it. Some bullets are still probably in some of the people.

I was just reading about one poor girl that had one in her eye.

The way the windows were broken and the way he had them set up on stands and almost out of the room, most are probably on the ground or embedded in things, etc.

Could be he was an arms dealer. An easy way to make money for him.

The security guard, who was shot before or after the concert shootings, depending on the version of the story you prefer, disappeared moments before he was scheduled to appear on television to be interviewed about the event, and hasn't been seen since.

    Source: Fox News

I know he was scheduled to be on Hannity that day, as Fox had been promoting it heavily, but he didn't appear, and Hannity didn't mention anything about his absence.
