Subway was the only sub sandwich place I ever ate at. I loved it. But when diabetes forced me to learn about sugar & carbs, I got an unpleasant surprise. The 12-in sub has 80 grams of sugar in the bread alone, without anything in it. Damn, I miss it!
BTY, for comparison, one 12 oz can soft drink has 40 gms sugar.

They have several different breads now, and wraps as well. I find that the 6" sub is plenty of food so I don't ever buy the 12".

I love Sub sandwiches (of course I do !), but the only place I have ever had one is at Subway. Years ago, I worked at the Subway in north Idaho, and I really liked working there, too.
We made breakfast sandwiches as well as the regular lunch subs, and part of the job was cutting up all of the fresh veggies and baking the different types of sandwich buns, and the chocolate chip cookies.

I like all of the possible veggies on my sub sandwiches, and mostly have the ones with some kind of cold cuts or sliced chicken or turkey on them, as well as lots of cheese.
Usually, I do not add jalapeños, even though I like them, because it overwhelms the taste of the other veggies, but I do love the pepperoncinis on my sub sandwiches.
I would love to try some of the other sub places and see how they compare with Subway !

I've eaten at Which Wich and it's very good.
People rave about Jersey Mike's but the slabs of meat look "pressed." I was not impressed the one time I tried it.
I hit Subway once a month or less, and always get a tuna sub.

There's a chain of gas stations called Sheetz that has Made-to-Order subs, tacos and other stuff. It'[s local, and I grab subs there all the time. I can get a 6" one for $6 or so and get 2 meals out of it. It's cheaper than buying lunch meat & toppings and worrying about spoilage. WaWa is another gas station chain that's supposed to have good subs, and they're in the process of constructing one just up the road from Sheetz.
