This was kind of hard because I like and enjoy all of those staple foods. I chose kidney beans because they are my favorite, but not necessarily the one that I eat the most of, which would probably be oats in one form or another.
I didn’t see brown rice on the list, but I like that better than white rice.

I enjoy most of the legume family, including lentils, as well as split peas.

Chickpeas & all other beans. I used to think beans were just a cheap substitute for people who couldn't afford meat. But after some research (and diabetes), I learned that beans are very healthy. They provide both protein and carbs in the right ratio & also have the highest soluble fiber content of any food. Soluble fiber regulates cholesterol.

Health Benefits of Beans
    • Gut Health: Beans provide resistant starch and prebiotics that feed beneficial gut bacteria, which convert them into a short-chain fatty acid called butyrate. [1, 2]
    • Weight Control: Butyrate sends satiety signals to the brain, while the slow absorption of calories helps control appetite and energy levels. [1]
    • Blood Sugar Control: As a low-glycemic carbohydrate, beans digest slowly and prevent sharp insulin spikes. [1, 2]
    • Disease Prevention: Regular bean consumption supports cardiovascular health, improves insulin sensitivity, and helps lower the risk of stroke and chronic illness. Learn more about how beans keep your gut microbiome healthy.

I think I have all in my preps but split peas, which I love in soups, need to be replaced sooner, being damaged. I like garbonzos but hubby does not. I pickle them or back them as a snack. I also have red and green lentils.
The beans we have mostly in chilis the rest mostly in soups.
