Where's the Coffee Pot?

Our spare looks like that but a bit rustier. The one we use is made of sheet metal on the outside, cast iron on the inside. Made by Montgomery Wards, I think, in the 20's. We got it because it was light enough to pick up in the car. The living space in the barnhouse is not very large and, although we have to keep feeding it, we can stay warm and cook on it. Oh, and it only cost $100.

These days it is good to have alternative heat source. Good you have that and what a great price too.

Is my face red!
No, but in Paint Shop Pro 5, the poor man's Adobe Photoshop, I could tint it for you. ;)

By the way, I forgot to say where that place in. A little way west of Lone Pine, California, is a large outcropping of rocks and boulders called The Alabama Hills. They are a darker brownish color in the center of the photo. Behind them is Lone Pine Peak, and far off to the right, only partially visible in the photo is Mt. Whitney, 14,505 feet above sea level, the highest point in the conterminous US. Both mountains are in Sequoia National Park. Just a little over 100 miles away is Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park is the lowest point, 282 feet below sea level. 🌴

Anyone here add cinnamon to their coffee ? Anyone believe that it might help joint pain ?
I was taking cinnamon on a regular basis, more for the blood pressure benefits. You want to buy Ceylon Cinnamon (true cinnamon) and not the cheap stuff if you're gonna regularly supplement with it (as opposed to having the occasional piece of cinnamon toast.) The cheap stuff has high levels of coumarin, which will harm your liver in quantity over time. Ceylon Cinnamon has little-to-no trace amounts of it.

The downside is that Ceylon cinnamon is way more expensive (post-COVID price is $7/bottle), but for the amount one uses it's cheap on a per-dose basis. Even with my several-times-a-day supplementing, a bottle lasted 4-6 months. In fact, I stopped using the other stuff altogether, even for cooking. Grocery stores carry Simply Organic brand, which seems to be trusted as actually being Ceylon cinnamon (as opposed to going on Amazon and trusting the anonymous sources there.) As an aside, there were recall notices put out for a long list off-brand regular cinnamon having high lead content in them. The sources of the lead were: 3rd world processing machinery, 3rd world ground pollution, 3rd world thieves spiking the product to add cheap weight.

Thanks for the replies, I'll look for the Ceylon. I've been using about one half TSP in my grounds.

I add it dry to the basket, that said, I use a one cup drip coffee maker, and [most days] only drink one cup. I used to drink it by the gallon :) back when I used a percolator but have backed off.
My consumption goes up & down. I never brewed the cinnamon....I gotta think very little of it makes its way into the coffee, but I don't really know. I just shake some into the cup.

I put ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon in my first cup of coffee every morning. Doctor said my cholesterol was a bit too high about 20 years ago. Wanted to prescribe Lipitor. I looked up the side effects and told him to let's try to get it down by diet and exercise. I read that cinnamon could help reduce cholesterol. When I went back for my next checkup, it was normal. I can't swear the cinnamon helped but it certainly didn't hurt and besides, it tastes good. ☺️ I don't know about pain, but I can say that I am mostly pain free. Not totally but mostly.

I think I will try just shaking it into my cup once it has brewed . I figure it might take a year or so, before I "feel" any difference ? But I do plan on sticking with it anyway.
