What's for supper?

Kroger had some really nice chuck roasts for around $4 a lb, which is about what hamburger costs, so i am going to add some tomatoes, pepper and onion and make a Swiss steak roast from it. I really like it when we find the good markdown prices at Kroger and can fit foods into our budget that otherwise are not affordable . Kroger Day is almost always a happy day for us !

Since today is Ash Wednesday , the beginning of Lent, I am sure we will have some kind of fish dish, perhaps a chowder. We have a lot of fish in the freezer because of where we live, so it will probably be a salmon chowder, but we have crab as well. Wife is at church, so she will decide when she gets home.

We don’t have Kroger in Australia ,is it a type of Costco @Yvonne Smith

It’s only lunch time here and we don’t really eat lunch from time to,time we will have a Crusket with a bit of cheese

For tea I’m planning on a simple meal of crumbed chicken tenders ( I’m making them from scratch ) using panko crumbs
cooked in AirFryer …actually I looked up instructions for hints on cooking crumbed chicken as I’ve never cooked it in my newish airfryer
it sounds super simple mix 1/2 cup crumbs with 2 tablespoons oil ….coat chicken in beaten egg ..apply crumb / oil,mix and cook 12 mins

It’s hot so we will have salad with the chicken , but I might throw in a few chips 🍟 in airfryer as well
