What Are You Doing Today?

@John Brunner - Ever notice if something works for you,- you like, can afford it, that its always, bad for you, will kill you, blah blah blah.....THEY always find a way to bring us down -one way or another :p

Yup. I don't take Benadryl (or much of anything) very often, so I'm not overly concerned...except that my mother had dementia. I keep a variety of stuff on hand just in case I need it, but am always tossing nearly-full containers of OTC meds when they hit their expiry date (which is another topic of discussion.)

I slept in late. For some reason I had massive sinus drainage and sneezing fits when I went to bed last night, so I popped a couple Benadryl. They knocked me on my butt. Then this morning I read that senior folks should not take Benadryl because of "confusion, dizziness, and an increased risk of dementia." damn. So I'll pick up some Claritin or Alegra when I'm at the store. But I'll keep some Benadryl around in case I get stung by yellow jackets. I also keep an Epi Pen handy.
Seems everyone has been having sinus problems. My husband always gets sneezing fits too. He said the sneezing starts to hurt after a dozen sneezes in a row. Hope you feel better.

Thanks, Krystal. I'm fine. I have no idea what started it. I should have only taken one Benadryl rather than two. But I sure slept soundly, rather than waking up several times. I'm gonna grab some Melatonin to help with that, since that's not harmful to take. I just need to zero in on the right dosage. Sometimes 5mg is fine, sometimes 1/2mg knocks me out.

I was continuing on lower deck floor staining yesterday and then the railings looked pale so I am touching them up today. I went to the bird swap this morning and bought a pair of black chickens, the breed of which escapes me just now. But they are a young pair of blacks which is what I wanted. The theory is that black chickens confuse hawks into thinking there are crows in your flock. Crows protect their young with intention so hawks sometimes avoid them. The roo got away from me when I was transferring him into the chicken tractor so I had to net him. Now he seems scared to death of me. I did not hurt him but he was sort of catatonic after I caught him. Then I powdered him with diatomaceous earth because he had been pulling at his tail feathers at the sale. He will never let me touch him again, I bet.
