What Are You Doing Today?

I went to the "city" about 25 miles up the road to grocery shop, then hit the Chinese buffet for lunch. It's sort of silly to make the trip when I mostly just buy salad fixins for the week, but I eat a salad every dinner and the produce out my way stinks. Plus there's a Murray's Cheese kiosk at Kroger, and I like a nice quality blue cheese on my salad. I take the old rural route that parallels the interstate. It's a nice drive through the country, with only a couple of traffic lights.

There's a Harbor Freight out that way, but they don't have anything on sale that I'm interested in this week (a real rarity.) I did swing by Lowes to buy water softener cleaner and the o-rings for my whole house filter canisters, since my local Lowes never has them in stock.

Took Mark to heart doctor for check up. Doctor wants a new stress test and echogram on him,Set for 6/29
Stopped eat at the one and only place to eat in a town we pass thru to get home. Mexican place, been there quite a few times.
Today the food was way too salty. Along with other no so great things with meal. When we stopped to pay,was asked and I said - um it was okay. HE wanted more info so we told him. No real biggie, but was very disappointing meal.
Bloated we drove home, and have been almost unmovable since.

Is Mark gonna do the stress test the old fashioned way, or is he gonna go the chemical route?

I don't have anything in particular planned for today. I placed a grocery order to be picked up later and I'm expecting my new handbag to be delivered so I'll be watching for the UPS truck like he's Santa on Christmas Eve. The lawn crew didn't come yesterday due to all the rain we've been having, so I guess they'll be here sometime today. I was thinking of washing my car on the driveway but that's on hold until after the lawn is mowed.

I am done planting stuff in the aerogardens, at least for now; so I have been emptying them and cleaning everything out. The large one is too heavy for me to lift, and it is on a high shelf, so I will be asking Mr. Bobby for help with that one.
I may or may not start fall seeds. That remains to be seen. But now, we are getting into the hot summer weather, so moats yard work is over for me until fall, except for what I can doo early in the mornings. I am looking forward to the swimming pool days, and Bobby has the pool and pool floats all ready to go.

After a night of broken sleep, due to the neighbors dog barking since midnight, I got out early to flush out my fountain that my friendly raven drags all manner of food he finds that school kids a couple miles away, throw down. Hot wings are his favorite, but this morning it was slowed to a pitiful drizzle, plugged with peanuts shells. That is a new one and less disgusting than hot dog pieces or pieces of buns. The worst was the time he must have raided another birds nest, and brought in remnants of baby birds.

But that is not my story for today. I have resolved what is causing the dog to bark!

"Y'all get your nasty fat filthy ol disgusting rat asses out of here, right now." They both stood and looked at me in defiance. The big fat one yawned. I approached them clapping my hands and yelling derogatory names at them. They assumed a battle stance.

"So you wanta play that game, do you, you filthy kangaroo wanta bees." I got out the hose and turned the nozzle to longest reach and I blasted them chasing them out of my yard. Back inside, I poured a fresh cup of homebrew Mocha and decided to unwind on the patio since this is the first warm morning in a long while.

On top of the fence, both opossums stared me down. Not wanting to unwind the hose again, I picked up a dozen golf ball sized rocks. Closest I came was 6 feet, but the rocks hitting the fence got them moving. Not fast but out of sight. These nasty rats are responsible for agitating the dog and also destroying my tall wildflowers.

So, no plans today, since my morning planning was rudely interrupted.
