What Are You Doing Today?

It is raining much needed rain. The lady who owns Ali-the-Arabian came to check his puffy eye. That eye was a vet bill some years back, so I wanted her to check it to be sure I wasn’t missing something. He’s fine and he was happy to see his mom🤠

She was only here ~10 minutes and in that time a good sized tree fell across the road about 1,000 feet before the stop sign, down below. Meaning her new car could have been under that tree. She had to back up several hundred difficult feet before she could turn around and go out the other way.

All the men have chainsaws on this road, so it’s been cleared away already. Trees across this road are almost a weekly occurrence — even when there’s no wind.
 
It is pouring rain here, too; but we have had lots of rain this year, so we sure do not need another week of heavy rain and storms. One day would be fine, as far as I am concerned.
Do you think that the saturated earth is why the tree came down across the road, @Connie Bennett ? I was reading that they were having more flooding in North Carolina where it was so bad before. Do you know if that flooding is affecting Tennessee again, too ?

Yes @Yvonne Smith , I do think the rain contributed to the tree coming down, but it wasn’t the tree I expected🙄. I felt terrible for the Arab’s owner. While she is a pretty tough cookie, she had her dogs with her and to back up and around curves/hills before getting to a spot to turn around. That was the old dock area where one farmer loads his cattle.

Parts of Middle Tennessee are under a flood watch, including my county. Floods don’t even get on my list of weather worries. This property is allegedly one of the highest spots in the county and its natural drainage is very good.

Wind: we replaced the back quarter of the house roof, which faces SSW and takes the brunt of the storms.

Lightening: has traveled down the chain link of the dog yard and taken out a few TVs and desktops.

We are not in an earthquake zone, but the New Madrid Fault line is only a day’s drive west and there’s a fault line in East Tennessee that might cause problems if it ever rumbles hard enough.
 
Believe it or not, we are going to be busy a few hours today. We will be at the museum down the street helping out again.
Lady who sees to museum has appt , so we will be there 4 or 5 hours to help with visitors, Big bike run going on here and some will be coming to museum before and after the bikers leave even.

Well. I could not go,seems my body refused to let me move much. Sigh...:confused:

Spinal decompression. Hip put back where it belongs after dumping some old hay over the weekend. Rewarded myself with a loaded baked potato (pork) and some extra sides at the the best BBQ around — which happens to be two doors down from my chiropractor 🤠🤠

Lawn folks are here to mow, since I’ve given up trying to keep up with all of it. 4-5 hours for me, 1-2 hours for them and I can keep my tractor‘s maintenance down — just use it when I need it at the barn and pastures.

Time for supper for the horses, but I will wait until the mowing is done so I can empty and clean their outside waters.

It is sprinkling, they are mowing, but I am no longer fussy about the yard —— just get it cut🥸🥸

Laundry: Why is it that laundry never stops . Now that heat and humidity have arrived, there is even more 💩💩💩

Sorry, I can't remember what state you are in, Hoot. Wonder if you could make do with a 'wall' air conditioner or a window air conditioner. When my daughter's ac went on the fritz her boyfriend brought over a portable ac that vented out a window with like a corrugated pvc pipe.
 
Wondering if I should just go back to bed. I was putting up dishes and my year old, glass, encased in plastic tea pitcher
fell in the sink.Seemed fine until I poured fresh tea in it. Started coming out the end. Actually think it busted in dishwasher. Trashed. Sigh
Then we are making our ice cream,and I am cracking eggs, when I noticed egg shells in my broken eggs to mix!:mad:
Had to dig them out. Finally got it all together and it is a churning away now.
Sitting on heating pad, until ice cream is done.then lunch time. Rest of day just usual stuff to do.
