What Are You Doing Today?

Today is pouring rain and lots of thunder and lightning, so no yardwork today. Poodle is cuddled up next to my feet because he is scared of thunder, and we are going to stay inside and let God do the watering of the yard and garden today.
There is always housework to do on rainy days, so once I am done with my morning coffee, I will work on some of that.

Speaking of lightning. Last night's was amazing in the middle of the night. No Thunder but the whole sky kept lighting up. I was only looking out one picture window but flash after flash across the whole thing for quite a while. Then a minute or so of heavy precipitation. Then nothing

It's a cloudy cool day today so we are going to trim the shrubs that are in the landscaping.

I was just telling my husband that the shrubs in the front yard need trimming. I hate doing that because the "trimmings" are hard to pick up in the mulch. I tried spreading plastic sheets on the ground but somehow that doesn't work great either.

I'm going to do some dusting and vacuuming today. Then we may go outside and start on the new river-rock project next to the shed. We need to get that done before the summer heat hits.

We did the plastic sheet thing too. We use to have mulch too, but we removed that and put decorative rock down a few years ago, and it is still a pain in the a** to deal with the trimmings. 🫤

Laundry and recouping from extremely sore muscles due to yard clean up after yesterday morning at Orthopedic doctors to see foot and tailbone specialist. Foot doc says some new nail showing and feet circulation sounded good on his ultrasound, so back in 4 months to see if fungus is gone for good. Tailbone not missing much more bone than it was years ago, no mass requiring biopsy (Had that done years ago and ouwee) It still shows a couple of fractures and will probably aggravate me until I die.

Visit with women's Urologic Oncologist shows no noticeable advancement of cancer and all blood test looked good. Return in July to already scheduled 6 month monitoring. This unsuspected pit stop was because of an elevated something in the blood that concerned the Orthopedic doc checking my tailbone. I am thankful we have several Oncologist in the area now, and two that deal with Urologic cancer issues. It is nice to have one, a woman. that specializes in women's issues.

Anyway, I am taking my old sore body out for a rural walk. I made friends with a group of steers in the corner of one pasture a couple of days ago. I didn't tell them of their fate this coming fall. It is an ugly business, but beef steaks don't grow on trees.

I wasn't aware you have this tailbone thing too.

I pulled all my shrub's years ago. Way to much work and difficult to keep looking nice. No bark or rocks here to clean up either. I tried that also and this climate is too windy and rocks are hard to maintain even with black fabric weed guard under them. Soil blows in, then crap grows on top. Easy to pull for the young and agile. I don't assume that position anymore. No more doggie style around this field of dreams. :ROFLMAO:

Well now there are two of us, so,
My tailbone issue isn't cancer is the good news. I have suspicion that others here also have tailbone issues, but sit on it rather than share. Mine was most likely damaged from doing hard work years ago. Probably fractured from those old poorly cushioned tractor and heavy equipment seats. It is partially disintegrated for the same reason my entire spine is missing bone, old age and too hard of work.

This is off topic, but good info to pass along to young women that think they are invincible. The estrogen fueled muscle is more limber allowing females to excel at things like gymnastics and do contortions. The thing is that flex allows for more wear on the joints when doing heavy lifting and jobs best left to men that have tighter stronger muscle, supporting their joints better. I am living proof that this isn't bull :poop:

Can y’all smell the Bengay? 😜 All the bending and scooping of the trimmings. Ack! We are half done trimming the bushes. We got the front of the house done, and so are we for today. We may have to call in Edward Scissorhands to finish the job.✂️:ROFLMAO:

We might have gotten a little farther along, if we hadn't sat on the porch for so long recouping after trimming each shrub. :D
