What Are You Doing Today?

So….we’re coming back from the blood letters and about half way home the GMC started to overheat.
Yeah, the same truck that I just replaced the radiator for not to exclude the replacement of the thermostat, full system flush and a bunch of time bleeding the air from. That GMC !

Anyway, I pulled into a restaurant parking lot (it was empty) and just turned the key off and BANG ! Steam rolling out from under the hood, water and coolant running all over the pavement and my wife in a total state of shock.

Over an hour later, AAA gave us the ride of shame back to the house and about 2 more hours after that I started into the disassembly mode. (Stephanie, No disassemble Johnny 5). .

The problem? Top radiator hose. 6-7” split. Cost of the hose? $89 bucks. More than the new radiator cost me.

I finally took off the snowblower yesterday and managed to drive the tractor to the big greenhouse for the first time this year. That means we can carry heavy stuff over there as needs arise. Back blade is on and I did some driveway work as well, but the ground is still frozen solid, so what can be accomplished is limited. There is water everywhere since nothing can soak in when the ground is frozen solid. The temperature did not go below freezing again last night, so there is hope.

Temps are into the 40s F. during the day and the snow is melting rapidly now. Transplanting (up-potting) is almost done for the first round and greenhouse cucumbers will be planted today.
