What Are You Doing Today?

This morning started out peaceful at 4:00 AM — a bit too early but the dogs wanted out as they do every morning. Thay have close to a 1/4 acre backyard in chain link, so I leave them out to enjoy the morning unless they scratch at the door.

Imagine my surprise when I went out the garage door and my faithful 12 yr old is there to greet me🤯😳🤯😳. That means the not quite as faithful & fat four year old is MIA💩💩💩💩

I call for her and no answer, but she could be 100’ away and too all up in herself to come when called. I know where she is not because the neighbor dogs are quiet.

I figure I will have to go looking for her, after I feed the horses, but thankfully her shoe-legged-fat little Pit Bull self had had enough of being loose and was waiting for me by the garage. Even though she has a collar with her rabies and microchip ID tags, I still worry she will get shot or kidnapped.

It took her an hour to stop panting, but she’s fine now. I still have to locate and fix wherever she squeezed out of the chain link😡

BTW, the criminal in question is the gray/white on the left, in my avatar. The brindle fella is 12, has been here 11 years, and has no desire to disappear.

I paid my automobile and home owners insurance online. They make it so easy to spend your money. A few clicks and it's gone. I didn't even have to lick a stamp.

I pay as much as I can on line. You are spot on that it’s really easy to hit Send and your money is gone in a flash 🤯🤯

I still have a bunch of Forever stamps that I bought when they were 38 cents. They come in handy for greeting cards🤠🤠

I've been prepping for warm weather lawn chores. Mainly cleaning up, lubing, folding handles on the snow tools then swapping these for the mower, leaf grinder, rakes, etc. The mower and such are under tarps to keep off rain, dust, bird crap ready to hand as needed for the season. I don't have a barn or a large shed.

We've had some severe weather of late along with real soaking rains and high winds. The tarps are lashed and weighted, so no blow-away or anything. But this AM there were some weird sounds from within those tarps.

"Oh great, critters." Thankfully no holed-up ducks, skunks, or rabid raccoons. No, two dogs, belonging to two different neighbors. Acting really cowed... I guess some dogs really have thunder trauma though few have ever been stuck outside in a large hail storm. I had to lead them home. Very weird, we don't normally have free-roaming dogs around here these days.

I've been outside as I always am on spring mornings. Watering and trimming stuff, dragging trash cans to the curb, and all that fascinating business. I decided to clean a few windows (exterior) while I had the water hose out, and soon I had my husband involved so I came back in the house and left him with it.

Got some clothes folded and now I need to finish up my grocery order for this afternoon. I guess I'll add a rotisserie chicken for an easy supper. This is fascinating reading, I'm sure. :D.

So far drinking coffee and posting on SOC. Still in my latest exercise outfit. OK OK, I know yawl are dying to hear about it. It is USA made with shinny capri bottoms and semi shiny black floral embossed bra. I like the bra because it has a 2" band and stays in place. It pushes up what gravity hasn't been kind to. I just realized that today is Thursday. Something is being overlooked, but I don't know what. I suppose I should put on some suitable shopping clothes and walk into town and get a new furnace filter. I just realized I am overdue by 16 days.

It is cold and windy today, so I will wrap up and wear my walking gloves. I will look foolish coming back with a filter in one hand and an ice cream sammich in the other. I always treat myself for good responsible behavior.

My major accomplishment for the day was coming home from the hospital. Tuesday afternoon I apparently passed out and hit the bedroom floor with a thud. Woke up and my head was laying in a large pool of blood. Squad was called and I got a free ride in an ambulance to the local emergency room. They of course admitted me to the hospital. CT scans, innumerable blood pressure tests, blood test and blood sugar test, an MRI on my brain at 3:00 am this morning. As it turns out, I'm old. I do have increasing difficulty breathing or walking. Oh well. I did sent my brother and DIL a selfie of my black eye - told them it was from a bar fight. They didn't believe me either....

Good heavens, Hoot! You have got to stop "pulling these stunts" (as my mother used to say). That all sounds so scary and I'm glad you're doing OK now.

Oh wow, that is scary! Have you changed blood pressure pills? My husband passed out when he was given new BP pills. Scared the :poop: out of me!

Sorry you were hurt, hopefully no lasting effects.

Listen Hoot! I enjoy reading your posts but such stories, I don't. I wish they had given you a clue why this happened. Being old isn't satisfactory. Please be careful and get this figured out. Falling is no good for anyone, especially advanced years folks. I am glad you are ok and can joke about it. :sneaky:

You did not request forum authorization for that! How are you really doing?

The last couple of days I have been spending a few hours during the day in the backyard, in part layering my compost pile, but mostly picking maple seeds out of my flower gardens, as they are all just starting to germinate. I try to get them in the fall but last year, the snow came shortly after the trees dumped a load of seeds on my planting areas, and then it didn't go away until just recently. In the process of picking out the seeds, I had to pick up a crapload of old leaves too; although I wouldn't mind the leaves in my gardens, the seeds are generally hiding under them.

So, I mulched a couple of bags of maple leaves and seeds yesterday before the rain came and put an end to that. Now, I have a wheelbarrow and about six buckets of leaves and seeds that are too wet to mulch.

It’s 1930 hrs and I’m not doing because I already did.

The main thrust of the day for me was putting together an upgrade to the vibrator plate.
The one we’re replacing was just the 3 speed plate and the new one has handlebars, mp3 player speakers, and about 109 other functions.

Sadly through, it didn’t start out well due to a warning at the very beginning of the directions that would read as an insult and a challenge for any free thinking, puzzle seeking man.
Of note is the fact that most men I know, including myself feel that an instruction manual is for someone else other than ourselves and also possibly to make some Chinese guy or gal feel good about the way they formulate sentences in English.
I digress.
Anyway, because the rig cost over 200 beans, I figured I had best have a look see at the instructions just to make sure there aren’t any twists or turns I should know about but there it was at the very beginning…..the warning. The insult. The challenge.

WARNING
To prevent potential injuries, wear appropriate hand protection during assembly.
SEEK ASSISTANCE FROM ONE OR MORE PERSONS AS NEEDED !!

Heck, I didn’t really want to look at the bloody instructions to begin with and now they’re telling me that I’ll probably get stuck and then I’ll have to call someone or someones for help…and wear gloves whilst doing it ? As the comedian said, “nay nay”.

Note: I do have to admit that because the light in the living room isn’t that bright, I did at one point hand the flashlight to Yvonne so I could set the last two screws into place a little easier.
I am with you, @Bobby Cole as far as directions go. I am definitely in touch with my masculine side.
Although I don't always understand the symbols on things-- like the one for flat tire on the dash. ( ! ) looked like a butt to me. I asked daughter what the butt light was years ago.

We are still a bit flooded so will wait to do a few things. I walked into the barn and there is a wooden crate I had set on the generator by the door. Some chickens decided it would be a good place to lay eggs because the barn is too wet to use the usual spots. I hope the girls continue this practice. Eggs in a box by the door? What a concept!
I can't wait for things to dry up a bit.
Dropped off a pair of half muck boots for daughter
