What Are You Doing Today?

I hear the distant sounds of procrastination in your post🤠🤠

I am the only person I this house, yet I have more laundry than three people .

Funny you mention car wash. I looked at my car on the way to the barn (it’s too far to walk back up hill all the way), and thought to myself you need washed. Should I let one of the local car washes clean you up? And I thought no, I can’t afford it and I doubt they would do a decent job.

I have not washed it yet, but I have dawn dish soap at the barn and a very long handled scrub brush, so at some point between now and Sunday I will fill a bucket with Dawn dish soap and cold water. Wash the car down and let it air dry.

This from the person who used to be so anal about cleaning a car that I scrubbed it with a toothbrush and then I waxed it. That was an eight hour job. Now I get upset if I’m not done washing the poor thing outside in 15 minutes. Then there’s the inside that we won’t talk about………
Procrastination is a winter sport that I whole heartedly and with no qualms compete it. If I did have any regrets this last winter they would be that there are no medals given out nor cheer leaders who rally around when I feel as though I have won.

Alas it is indeed spring here so I did get the 3 lawns mowed, the carpet on the front porch laid, organized some stuff around the shop and yes, my wife did have a couple of honey do’s somewhere in between.

The lady who designed the ā€œ mug rugā€ embroidery design …not the mug rug itself ….the design so you buy the design and you sew it out on a embroidery machine , in the colour of your choice ….( I bought the swans embroidery design from a designer who’s fully registered to make and sell them under sports logo Laws .

I emailed her yesterday and asked if she could make me a 5 inch square blank ….design for sewing the sports logos on and right away she did it for me while I was sleeping 😓, she not in Australia and she makes the best of the best designs ….so latter today I’m going to try the latest size blank design for hubs footy team…..The Adelaide crows ….

Well, this morning, I did 60 minutes on the treadmill and 25 minutes on the life cycle at Planet fitness.

Then, my wife and I drove to Pennsylvania to drop off our tax papers.

On our way home, we stopped at a local place called Daddy's kitchen, where I had scrambled eggs, gravy and biscuits, two slices of scrapple and home fries, topped off with a big glass of milk. (just to offset all the exercise I'd done earlier, haha).

Then, after throwing the frisbee for my dogs, I took a nap from 3:15 to almost five.

Lastly, I found this site, registered and made this my very first post.

Don't feel guilt. I hand washed my hubby's car because I had to use a 4 wheel drive. It was covered with salt that got on clothes as we walked by it. I had to use bucket and brush and jug because a hose might have caused a freeze of something important. Got all the salt off on a relatively dry day.

It got dirty again.

I recognize that Dalai Lama avatar and I picture a dog following you through the house with a Frisbee in its mouth.
Welcome to this very nice forum. (I'm new, too.)

1. Getting the spare bedroom ready in case my ā€œbabyā€ brother makes the ten hour trip next eeek.

2. Constant vacuuming of the dead Asian lady beetles because the spray I bought really does kill them.

3. Wondering where my Purple Martins are, and wondering where my songbirds got off to, that were here a week ago.

4. It’s only 10:30, anything can still happen…

Are the Asian Lady beetles the kind of yellow colored ladybugs? We got into an invasion of those on a trip to northern Alabama with our motorhome a few years ago. We probably brought a few hundred of them back to Texas with us because they got into every cubbyhole in the RV.

I'm puttering around today, as usual. I have some laundry to do and I need to make a swipe at dusting, then clean out a couple of Aerogardens and pack them away. Maybe I can drag the better half to the garden center "just to look around," lol.

We need to get a bunch of gravel to put around the shed but we aren't too excited about that since our recovery time is much slower these days.

I gambled a bit today. I folded up all the tarp windbreakers in my barn/pole building. I put them up so the chickens can free range in the winter. Unfortunately they are all dirty with bird poop all over--not chicken poop wild bird poop. And the sparrows brought STARLINGS in with them. I hate the smell of starlings. Trust me, you can tell the difference. I will have to make a long pole to knock their nests down as they are taking over the few from last year.šŸ˜
Wish my barn cat hadn't died.

Yes they are yellow-ish/orange-ish and have some white on their heads.

They are very prolific producers 😔

I bought a gallon of ā€œAsian Lady Beetle Killerā€ from P.F. Harris and boy does it work. I doubt I used more than a tablespoon on three windows a few weeks back and I’m still sucking them up in the vacuum.

I am not seeing them on my windows, so the spray is a success except for all the vacuuming 🤯

Not a lot. I am lazy

I don't like starlings and I'm not crazy about sparrows, neither. I like the song sparrows though. Different sparrow altogether. :)

ACKK! Starlings😔

We had one spring, where they were insistent on moving into a barn. I would tear their slovenly built nests down morning and night. Then they decided they were going to rip out the insulation in one section of the barn ceiling. That made my husband pretty angry. He drug out the extension ladder, handed me all the tools he was going to need to seal up that piece of insulation, with metal, injecting sailor words everytime time I handed him something šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Back then, I had four horses and kept an intercom in the barn. I could hear those starlings feverishly pecking away at that metal trying to break through. They couldn’t, they left, and knock on wood, they haven’t been back. That was around 2013 or 14.

I probably shouldn’t even bring this up————-

Just a note of caution. You must never get angry enough to shoot them in the ceiling. :ROFLMAO:

Since I got my truck going yesterday, this morning is goofing off and plant care, then off to a friend's orchard to pick up scion wood for grafting in a few weeks. The wood will be in the fridge until I am ready. Does anyone else here graft plants?
I do, but I am not always very successful. I am still reading and learning more about it. Mostly I have tried it with roses, not trees, becasue we don’t need any trees grafted.
