What Are You Doing Today?

Had a very good visit and one item that went OMG was 40 year old Ray Ban red alligator sun glasses. All my glasses are transitions so no need. There is a pair of Serengeti’s in the drawer. His birthday is in three weeks. Dark red polo? Shave and hair are 2026.
I had a big rib eye ready but asked SO if he is up to it or if extended Scooby Snacks are fine. He is a doll!

It still may not be. The Temperature display on my fridge and freezer won't stop flashing. The freezer flashes "8" and the fridge flashes "E." The fridge seems to be cold. The controls do not respond when I try to change the temps.

I shoved my Insta Read thermometer in there to sit overnight. If the temp is OK, I may just buy a pair of old style fridge/freezer thermometers and keep them in there.
 
Today is another day of theft of my time. Still a lot to do to clean up credit card info theft. Then off to cell phone place to make a decision. I was going to get the low end I-phone $600 model, but I was told by a friends granddaughter, an expert concerning 🍎cell ☎️'s, that saving 💰 doesn't pay and is just being a cheap 🫏.


🐴 up the dough was her message. It is a 🐶 and 🐴 show, living in these times. Getting 🐝 by the 🐛, 🐀, 🐓💩, 🐎's 🫏, that tried to rob me, has me saying as long as I have an 🫏, the low life's scum bags have something to 💋.

I am off anything that might thin the blood this week, in prep for the big biopsy, next week. I guess taking big tissue samples up the 🐈‍⬛ is prone to bleeding. I hate it when the choice is two minutes of pain and unpleasant surgery, versus weeks or months of pain before dying of cancer, and being a non-chooser isn't a choice.
 
I think that it depends on what you intend to use your phone for, as to whether a cheaper/older model would work fine. Younger people do a lot more things with their phones than many of us oldsters do.
I only use mine for health tracking in conjunction with my Apple Watch, making necessary phone calls, and taking pictures. My phone is a few years old, but one of the larger models, so that it is easier for me to see and read when necessary.
I do not have a lot of things stored on the phone, so I don’t need a model with lots of storage space like people who have music or other things stored on their phones.

Pick a fairly new model that has the qualifications that you use, and if you just use basic phone stuff like I do, you will be fine and not need the most deluxe model. Amazon and Apple both offer refurbished phones which come with a guarantee , and should work as well as a new one does.

Well, the old style thermometers say that the freezer is 0°F and the fridge is 40°F, even though the display is still hung up on 8°F/E for the freezer/fridge temps. I guess I'll go old school and rely on them. It stinks because I keep the fridge at 37°F and the freezer at -1°F, but it looks like the thing has defaulted to a factory setting and I can't change it. The internet says that sometimes the computer goes through a diagnostic cycle after a power outage, but it's been hung up for 12 hours (I tried the old unplug/plug-back-in thing last night.) I've had brief outages of a couple of hours and this had not happened before.

I guess I can clean out the spoiled stuff and go shopping.
 
Well, this was annoying. 🤬 Went out to water the patio plants like every morning, except when I walked around to water the onions and parsley in my cedar raised bed (on legs) I got a surprise. The entire bottom had fallen out of the 2'x4' raised bed and 40+ gallons of soil was on the pool deck, along with all my spring onions and parsley, and a few thousand termites. 😫

I thought that termites didn't eat cedar but apparently I was wrong again. I should have remembered that they ruined many pickets on our old cedar fence a few years ago. Apparently once cedar ages and the sap all dries out it becomes more attractive to termites.

My husband shoveled most of the soil into a 40 gallon trash can and sprayed termite poison on each layer and stirred it around. I don't know what we'll do with that soil; I guess it will sit for a few months and then we'll use it to fill low spots in the lawn or something. I'm not going to bother with another raised bed and I wouldn't use that poisoned soil if I did.

Have you contacted the manufacturer’s tech line? There may be some easy fix.
I freaked when a full upright gave up the ghost. A neighbor let me use his empty deer freezer. SO checked it box stores and local contractor suppliers. He ended up with a two door commercial upright for a bit more than a residential one and delivered to plug in. Bessie is set at -8F and has regular defrost cycles. It scared me when I saw it the first time.
When we got the old one and the chest out side for someone to pick them up we had a good laugh. Someone must have pushed a basket on a shelf a bit off and turned them temp select to zero.

No, I've not done that. "E" usually means "Error." I may call them.

What a mess that must have been @Beth Gallagher I don’t use wood in the garden for that reason , our raised garden beds are all metal ( ground level )
The likes of Bunnings here have plastic raised garden beds in all sizes , so if you want to start all over again it may pay to look at those type
some even come with a ached cover at extra cost

I have a tracfone. android? I bought it for $39. I get a years supply of text, phone, data for $120 a year. I use my housephone for calls that will keep me on hold or when calling chatty friends. Tracfone is mostly for quickies and emergencies. Wish I could still have a flip phone. Easier to put in one's pocket.
 
Dunno yet.
If I start something then, like opening some grand puzzle, it will undoubtedly lead to something else to do which in turn will direct my attention to yet another project.
On the other hand, as the threat goes, “if ya don’t start somethin’ then there won’t be nuthin’ !”.

I can either brave a safari into an unknown jungle wrought with possible mixtures of successes and failures or have another cup coffee whilst enjoying the safety of my rocking chair on the front porch for now.

The choice is somewhat muddled but when faced with those same choices in the past that seemed to work for me, I’ll opt for Coffee for now, the Safari in maybe an hour or so. or so, or so….

Dern ! I just remembered I promised to water the lawn this morning. Now armed with massive amounts of mosquito repellent, I guess the Safari has begun !

Good morning to all-

So, got up, had breakfast with wife and daughter- she goes back to school next week- and then vacuumed the house and took trash out- today is pickup day.

Went out back and fed chickens- we get about ten eggs a day now, so neighbors see us as people of value since they don't have to buy eggs at the store. I share what I have, don't you see...

Then I took myself and my self-built flyrod down to Johnnie's pond- a former boss and friend who allows me to pester his fish. Caught some decent fish, I did. It's always fun to find a fool-fish to catch.

Came home and cooling off and when 9:00 comes, I'll take myself into town and the CVS to pick up meds.

And then this afternoon, I will put chicken thighs on the Big Green Egg for supper- I do love me some dark-meat chicken grilled up right. And that will be my day- as far as can be seen at this point-

Not a clue really.

Update since the day is almost over. Was moving pretty good today so, I took everything off the counter tops in kitchen and cleaned the counters.. Then all the appliances on counter, moved somethings around. washed a load of dishes, then put them up when dried. Washed a load of clothes. I have been busy most of the day. It feels good to get stuff done.
Cooked dinner and cleaned that up..Yikes, now on the heating pad..but worth tit .:)
