"Tony" Thought Journal 3.0

My daughter and family (husband & grandkids) yesterday trimmed about a hundred feet of overgrown shrubs along the fence on one side of the house. it looks so much neater now.

Many times during my visit to the oncologists I have brought up side effects that have been troubling me. I looked up these side effects online and they all point to having Peripheral Neuropathy. Not once did my oncologist indicate that this was a possibility. Of the 11 or so side effects, I have seven. My wife has it in her hands, and it makes every day tasks much harder for her to do. I think the weakness I've been feeling is related to this. From what I'm reading the medical response to help this is Gabapentin. I will try my hardest not to take this because of its side effects. I will search for an holistic approach.

I've only been working in the yard maybe a half hour a day mostly to water my plants. The rest of the time I'm either sleeping or watching TV, oh I forgot or reading the mail.
Please say a big NO to Gabapentin! They had me take it years ago and I ended up having a serious panic attack and ended up in the ER. There are several similar drugs that they tried on me and all of them had some bad effect worse than dealing with the nerve problem.

Don't be fooled by the term Peripheral Neuropathy. It is just a way of saying you have nerve problems. What is the cause of the nerve problem is what should be treated, but in most cases that isn't possible, so a symptom (nerve pain) of an underlying problem, is treated instead of the problem. Treating that nerve pain by blocking an electrolyte, never has a good ending. In most cases, treating the underlying problem is impossible such as in nerve malfunction due to the Mylan sheath being permanantly damaged.

Keeping your electrolytes balanced will help more than anything. First thing is to have blood test monitoring your electrolytes. If either sodium or potassium gets to far of of whack, then nerve problems will get worse.

Usually the way these drugs work is by blocking sodium, which keeps the nerves from firing correctly. Blocking sodium or any other electrolyte, leads to your nervous system malfunctioning. Keeping electrolytes balanced, heat pads, exercise, and Voltatren is what helps me most.

You are already taking alpha lipoic acid, right?

My daughter and her family will be traveling on vacation today. They will be heading for Tennessee, on the way there they're planning on stopping in Kentucky to visit Mammoth cave, the world's longest known explored cave system, with over 400 miles explored. In Tennessee they want to visit Dollywood. Last week my daughter got a call from one of her closest friends who lives upstate New York, she wanted to know if my daughter would join her in Florida because she won a raffle for 5 free tickets to a Disney resort and theme parks. My daughter agreed and will be heading to Disney World after Tennessee. my daughter and three grandkids will be gone for about 3 weeks.

A couple of weeks ago I reported we had an intruder on Ring video walking through my property and broke into my sheds. It just dawned on me this morning to check the neighborhood feature on ring. It's a place where people can list things they've spotted on their ring camera stray pets and safety issues. A few minutes before our incident, a home .2 miles away had a video of the same intruder trespassing on there property, looking around and then leaving. They claimed the intruder was a thief and was caught by the police. It was a relief to read that he was caught by the police. I have taken additional precautions like getting locks for the gates. I had just found a solar powered camera that I liked the features, I was debating whether to purchase it, now I'm not so sure I need an additional camera, especially since it's still a goal that we're selling the house and moving to South Carolina.

You can take the camera(s) with you to South Carolina.

With my daughter and grandkids away on vacation the house is very quiet. Their bedrooms and a bathroom is on the second floor of the house. During the course of a day my grandkids will navigate the staircase multiple times to come downstairs and seek out snacks or drink. They are not allowed to bring them upstairs, so they eat them in the kitchen. This gives me the opportunity to tease, talk, and enjoy them. I miss the activity.

I spoke to my daughter last night and they had gone to Monmouth cave in Kentucky, and are on their way to Nashville Tennessee.

I have started 2 tubs, one is for things that I want to take with me when we sell this house and move to South Carolina. The other tub is the things I don't need any longer and will either put them out in the garage sale or give them to the local thrift stores.

I have a Sony CD jukebox it holds 400 CDs. It stopped working about 6 months ago, I have to fix it. I decided because I can't work outside due to rain, I'd pack it up for South Carolina and worry about the repairing of it down there. I have about 380 CDs in it which I'm going to attempt to remove today so they don't get damaged in transit. I don't have their original cases anymore so I purchased a CD holder book and some CD envelopes to put them in. I will be ordering a roll of bubble wrap to protect the CD jukebox. I have a second Sony CD jukebox in the same condition. I will get that one ready for moving at a later date.

I have a cousin that lives about 15 minutes away, I call her my sister because we grew up together, we lived across the hall from each other in Brooklyn, and when her parents move to Queens and my parents moved to Long Island she would stay with us the entire summer vacation. She was visiting a friend yesterday when she got a call that her husband fell down the front steps of there house and was in ER. He had a small brain bleed and a irregular heartbeat, he's banged up pretty bad, that put him in ICU. last night she said the brain bleed stopped but they were going to get a cardiologist to check out his irregular heartbeat. I just got a text from her, he's going to get an echocardiogram today so he'll be in the hospital at least one more day. Another text they will move him out of ICU because the brain bleeds stopped they want to put him in a regular room, but my cousin wants him home she's afraid to leave him in the hospital with open wounds.

The last couple of days I've been watching YouTube videos about Near Death Experience (NDE). I don't know if we have a thread about this, but maybe we should because it's very interesting topic. I personally felt some of them were probably just part of the dying processes the brain goes through. However there were some that seem authentic mysteries, a topic for another day.
