I always saw it as a concise description of a serious social issue. I'm not even sure it does map onto a known mental health pathology. It seems to be widespread enough to earn a place of its own in the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual.

Those who criticize and question everything he says and does, and those who wholeheartedly believe everything he says and does.

Both sides suffer from this mythical TDS, a made up term with made up definitions.

You can say the exact same thing about the MAGA crowd, dressed up like they're trying to get on Let's Make A Deal. That's not normal behavior, either.

Look, I don't have any political affiliation. As far as I'm concerned, ALL politicians are crooks and thieves. Not one of them has our best interest in mind.

Most of the TDS folks cannot really enunciate what they find so wrong with Trump, and they are just re-spouting what they and their friends are told to say or think. Like you @Mary Stetler I don't like everything Trump says and does, but he is doing mostly what is right for the country and I don't really care if he is a "nice man" or not if he continues to do what is right. Jimmy Carter was a very nice man, but most of what he did as President has resulted in a weakened country and, really, a weakened Democrat party. It was Carter that turned that party into a group of Special Interests Groups rather than the old "Working Man's Party" that it had been since FDR, not to mention the situation that we are currently in (and have been in for decades) in the Middle East.
