Spring Cleaning

Here's a big part of my problem. I walked outside to shake out some stuff before putting it in the washer. Got side-tracked by the flower beds and the beautiful sunshine so I trimmed a couple of plants and gazed longingly around the yard. Finally dragged myself back inside against my will. I want to be OUTSIDE, playing in the dirt (as opposed to INSIDE, playing in the dirt!!)
 
Well, Beth, let me let you in on a little of me, and let it be known, what I am about to tell you happens often to me.

I'll walk right on past a dirty towel in the bathroom on laundry day, even though I know I'm doing whites, and when I'm done completing the task, then and only then does the dirty towel resonate with me.

I'll go outside to check the mail, then before getting to the mailbox I'll spot something that draws my attention away from the mail, and when I'm done busying myself with whatever it was that so abruptly interrupted my mail getting, I'll stroll back into the house and wonder to myself what it was that I needed to do outside and sometimes the entire day will pass me by before the bells and whistles go off as to what drew me outside in the first place. :giggle:
 
I wasn't kidding about baling my dust.
We have had clothes moths appear lately. I guess they came in with bird seed or something in the closets. My plan is to take apart the cabinets but the little buggers can cocoon in any crevice to appear later with wings.
I guess I will just turn catching them into a sport.

You will probably have to fumigate the closets clothes and all.
 
I can remember my mom doing spring cleaning. EVERYBODY had to help. Her lace curtains were taken down, washed, bleached, starched and pegged out on frames to dry. Every bit of bedding was washed and hung out. The mattresses were brought out into the yard to be beaten and leaned against the fence for the sun to sanitize. Carpets were hung up and beaten within an inch of their lives. Everything came out of the cabinets. Windows were set a-gleam.

She was a good housekeeper all through the year but outright war was declared the first sunny weekend in the spring. The winter's grime didn't have a chance against Five-Star General Mom.

Have you tried the O-Cedar Spin Mop? It's my choice; your hands never touch the water!!

Jacquelin, I know what you mean about mop size, I did prefer what I call janitors mop,now I don't think I could push and pull it across the floor.
Who am I kidding , now I can't even push the fluffy mop across the floor.

Mu aunt was the same way, we spent summers with her at the beach house and my job was to iron the hundreds of curtain panels after she washed them.

I got a shark steam mop used on amazon. I spray vinegar around the floor and use the mop. It doesn't do what I used to but it helps a little. What I can't do, I don't do.
That used to be laziness but now we have actual reasons.
