Shopping--What did you buy?

Wire covers to keep Sophie from chewing theru them. She chewed on my heating pad I love. I said many foul things.
As usual whipped out my duck tape and its working fine. She best not mess with the recliner ones.The rest just stuff we use around the house. We just had to buy tires so, - yikes charged them-so extra buying is kinda curtailed.
 
Laid in a few Winter preps for days ahead when I can't get out.

Mostly staple items: canned tuna, canned tomatoes, rice, dry split green and yellow peas, some canned chick a al king for quick and dirty "over rice" meals, etc. I still have plenty of radish and mung beans for sprouting to have fresh "greens" when all else fails.

I used to be able to find naturally fermented (pickled) cucumber, onion, carrot, cauliflower, and cherry pepper mix... but that seems to be extinct now where I shop. I can barely find cukes alone today.
 
Texted the local Western store manger and she was in. Ariat jeans for SO that actually fit! A mainly red Western shirt according to dress code for Friday play dates. I ended up with two pairs of pitch black jeans that are comfortable and look good. 30/34 - old age is not easy. Nobody told me that I will shrink!

Have you tried farmers markets and health food stores?
 
I'm expecting 2 deliveries today... a Japanese omelet pan and a bottle of sake from Amazon. A new handbag from Coach.

At Walmart, I picked up one of those Bullseye battery operated leaf blowers. It's the small lightweight model 'as seen on TV.' :rolleyes: It's about the size of a large hair dryer and seems to work OK. It will be easy for me to handle to blow leaves off the patio but it's really loud, though.

(One tire has this fast leak and another one developed a slow leak.) I ordered tires online Sunday afternoon and they arrived this morning via UPS. Installation is scheduled for Thursday. We truly do live in different times.

I will say I'm not sure that getting 4 years/30,000 miles out of each set of tires is all that great. The car came with Yokohamas. I installed Michelins last time...they ain't cheap.

After reading lots of reviews & a longer-lasting battery, I'm considering this one:
Auto stop when reached to the target pressure. 160 psi max. 7 preset modes. 3 units.
 
Since it looks like I am going to be cooking rice just about every day for a while, I looked at the rice cookers on Amazon and ordered one, so it will be a dedicated rice cooker and i do not have to get out the Ninja Foodi each time.
the Black and Decker one was on sale for about half price, so that is what I ordered.

I almost got one that plugs into the cigarette lighter, figuring that the car battery would always be charged. (You can buy those at your local Walmart.) Instead I got a GooLoo brand:

This model has been replaced and is currently $32 rather than $40. Link There's a story as to why I got this one and not the current model...

I have an electronic digital wood stove thermometer. It hangs on the wall so I can see the temp without having to get up and look. I got the receiver with it, and have it hanging on my bedroom wall so when I wake up in the middle of the night, I can see what the stove is doing. They use a power adapter that outputs 12vdc. I've been wanting a battery backup for them in the even of power outages, and both the GooLoo battery jumper and this discontinued inflator have a cigarette lighter output at 12vdc (the current model seems to lack this output.) I bought the required connectors and made some power cords. Dunno how long they will keep the thermometer going. but I can't imagine it draws that much current. And as I mentioned, the battery jumper has remained at 100% charge sitting in my car for 10 months so far. (I haven't had the inflator long enough to see how well it holds a charge.) Plus, the jumper and the inflator are less expensive than other battery backup options I was considering.

I love shopping for USA made clothes from the 1990s and early 2000.

These beauties are coming today and will give my very similar Harley Davidson bareback stretch Biker Blue riding jeans, a break. I love these because they are the most comfortable jeans. They stretch better without the back pockets.

I have read that the ones that plug into the cigarette lighter (power port) are VERY slow. A few years ago I saw a lot of recommendations for the VIAIR on car forums so I bought one. It connects to the car battery. We like it so much that we bought another one to carry in the truck and then a couple of months ago I ordered one for my son's new car. It works well and is small enough to stow.

Mine has a built in rechargeable battery and works great. It is a bit slow compared to a big compressor, but fast enough for me. I use it once a month to make sure car tires are kept at best pressure. It does the wheelbarrow, my garden wagon, and my hand truck, lickity split.

Yeah, I bought mine to carry in my car for emergencies. I like that I can set the desired air pressure and it will cut off automatically when that pressure is reached. My husband has a large air compressor in the shed that he uses for all the "at home" stuff.
