We sent these to one of our daughters and Maries friend.

I'm impressed with the solar house number that I just got. It looks real nice out here in the middle of nowhere. I'm curious as to how long it's gonna hold up. I've read of some guys who have installed the individual solar landscape lights and they've not help up over time and wondered if it might not be more permanent to do a "real" panel with a battery & charger, then install higher-end lighting units that tie into the central power supply.

I have a gun and a pencil iron, but the pencil just has one of those cheap stamped stands. I was doing some work on an extension cord that got trashed outside a couple of weeks ago and could have used this. I also bought some 3/8" heat-shrink tubing.

You ever use a solder sucker (Solda Pull It?) I got one I've had for years.
My solder sucker is a spring loaded one that is a lot easier to use than the old one with the hand squeeze suction bulb. Heat shrink is a wonderful thing for insulating splices.

And overpriced. I have several pairs of "Orthofeet" shoes & sandals that are less than half the price & better quality. They are made in China, Vietnam & Mexico. That doesn't matter to me. I'm often surprised that people are willing to pay double price for inferior quality just to buy "American Made." That applies to cars & all products.
My brother used to be a big fan of "Buy American." He often criticized me for buying a Toyota Camry while praising his new Jeep Cherokee. But he abruptly stopped after his fourth transmission replacement. He bought a Toyota Land Cruiser & never said another word about buying American.
I bought one pair of shoes from SAS several years ago. I stepped in a one-inch puddle & my feet were soaked. And they stretched out & no longer fit after one month.

But the Camry has been built in the USA for several years. :D To me, "buy American" is purchasing goods that provide American jobs, and my Honda was built in Alabama. Apparently the Land Cruiser is still built in Japan, though. There are a couple of "American" cars that are built in China (Lincoln Nautilus and Buick Envision). And of course a Chinese company owns Volvo.

I try to buy American made goods as much as I can. I'm usually willing to pay the premium though sometimes it gives me pause.

I buy American-made whenever it makes sense to do so. I won't buy something that is much more expensive just because it's made in the U.S.A., unless I have reason to believe that the quality justifies the price, and I am well aware that Americans are capable of producing junk, too. Still, "Made in the U.S.A." is a legitimate selling point, as far as I am concerned. When it comes to cars, I think a lot of people don't realize that a lot of foreign-owned auto companies produce cars in the United States, just as U.S. auto companies outsource their production to foreign countries. At one time, more Toyotas were produced in the United States than Fords or Chevrolets.

Well, I hit the jackpot this week.

Two name-brand swimsuits, one with the $129 price tag still hanging on it, $3 each.

Also a long-sleeved fast-drying "sunshirt" or sometimes called a "rashguard" by the surf crowd WITH a built-in bra. Perfect for the waterpark. $3.

A "swimskirt", comes to about 4" inches above my knees with built-in attached long close-fitting shorts underneath. Hides the thunderthighs. Unfortunately, I had to pay $4 for that one. Sigh.

A sturdy hanging cloth shoe rack, looks brand new and holds 12 pairs of shoes. $1.

A nice pair of black tennies, not a mark on the sole so brand new. $2

12 washcloths, still sealed, $1

Two bags of the cutest little cars for my best friend's grand baby. $1. I'm going to paint a big piece of cardboard to look like a town with roads, houses, school, store and a river so we can push the cars "around town".

I got 32 reels of machine embroidery thread from TEMU , for $23 it’s a real good bargain it’s Madeira which a good quality brand

Each 500 mtrs on reel

Maybe they are selling threads cheap ,due to so many sewing machine shops closing up shop

A few years ago Harbor Freight opened a store in Charlottesville, where I go grocery shopping every week or so. It's like Toys Я Us for guys. I bought a membership because in addition to weekly coupons, they have Member Only deals. Since lots of old-line American tool makers (Craftsman) have been made in China, Harbor Freight has upped its game and has garnered a pretty good reputation for its hand tools (the Icon line.)

Today I picked up a couple of small soft-sided tool bags, some miscellaneous stuff (cable ties, cheap set of mini files, 10 pak of single-application super glue), and a magnetic sweeper.

I can't wait to run it through my grassy gravel driveway and find some of the stuff I've lost over the years.

I bought one of those magnet bars years ago (28 years ago I think) to pick up nails that roofers dropped during a roofing process. I got a few flats, but this device got most of them. I also have a golf club-sized one that i use around the equipment shed when I drop a bolt or something. I think they even make a giant bar that attaches to the tractor or truck for clearing long driveways.
