SeniorForums, anybody here a member?

Yeah, I was banished from Satan's Forum for speaking too much truth.

My only consolation is that the cabal is made up of witches so old that they can no longer spread their cult to new generations where it would do the most harm.

While there might still be a few males there with at least a partially functioing testicle, as the saying goes "There's no simp like an old simp."

Having run several forums over the years, I can say that it's not considered good form to discuss other forums that target the same audiences. Some forum administrators are competing, and even those who aren't competing in the traditional sense don't like seeing people pointed to another forum. For my part, I'd just like us to do our thing here without comparisons with other forums. Other than one long-defunct senior forum that I was once a member of, I didn't look at any of the other senior forums for ideas. Given that we're seniors, there are sure to be enough commonalities as it is. I'd rather not have any other forums badmouthed here, because that simply exacerbates ill will and doesn't do anyone any good. As long as we're not all trying to do the same things in the same way, there's room for other senior forums.

Sometimes, I'll be warned by someone or another that a new member has been banned from another senior forum, and, while I don't mind if people tell me these things, I don't really need to know it since any new members will be judged according to what they do here, not by what they might have done elsewhere. Even if they're banned from here, they can generally come back if they ask.

I am somewhat sensitive to the concept that this is a conservative forum because I don't consider that to be the case. I'm not registered with any political party, and I consider myself a liberal but not a progressive. However, I couldn't care less how other members vote, and I would hate to think that someone would believe they have to agree with me or anyone else here to be a welcome member of the forum. Why would I want to carry on a conversation with a bunch of people who agree with me on everything? Even if I strongly disagree with you on something under discussion in the forum, that wouldn't mean you're not welcome here. I know that some people do that, but I've never understood the idea that two people who disagree cannot have an enjoyable conversation.

In my old age, I have become considerably less political than I once was, anyhow.
Huh? There's another senior forum?

I'm so old I was a member of Buzz50, from which I was banned before it crashed..
I will neither confirm or deny membership at the old Buzz 50. Their forum stunk and they were about chat rooms. @Hoot Crawford Did you know a lady on there that posted a swimsuit photo? Perhaps you were banned for commenting and liking her photo. Her photo was deleted and she was severely warned and threatened with banishment, if that makes you feel any better. :ROFLMAO:

No not at all..

I didnt know of that one Kenny but dont worry,I love your site!!!

@Ken Anderson thank you for a well thought out response.

And thanks to everyone else as, from my perspective, it was good to clear the air regarding the other forum. Which I belong to but also stopped posting on there.

I am neither right nor left politically and have no use for snarkiness when it rears its ugly head. The snide inferences and undertones exist on both forums, but this forum is still much more civil. I hope time doesn’t make this forum jaded.

The senior behavior on the horse forum I have belonged to since. 2008, is much more civilized — even the “snarky” individuals are better with their choice of words.

I know there are horse folks on this forum, but you don’t care to indulge in conversation about them. I pretty much have nothing in common with anyone on here except my age, so it’s best I stay logged off. I only wanted to come to thank @Ken Anderson for his reply and also to everyone else who contributed.

I don’t know who got the thorn up their butt on that other forum to make it unreadable unless one is logged in, but IMO that’s a good way to attract the wrong kind of members. Many are already well on their way to becoming hateful heifers (the men too), pretty soon all they will be doing is in-fighting and seeing nothing wrong with it. I don’t have time in my life for that kind of bull💩💩💩💩, so I will stick with cleaning the horse💩💩💩💩 in my barn.🤠🤠

If you stayed, I suspect you'd find that you have some things in common with some of us.

I hope that you will stay, @Connie Bennett . I think that you are the only one here who still has a horse, but both @Mary Stetler and myself used to have horses, @Marie Mallory and @Jake Smith have had horses and donkeys, and we all miss having them.
I watch the gaited horse videos on YouTube and wish I could fit a horse, or even a mule, in my back yard; but even if I did, there is no place to ride around here.
But talking about our horses we used to have is still a good thread topic, and if you bring it up, we will probably all join in.

I do not have a political affiliation either, and just vote for whomever looks to me like they care about the United States and the Americans who live here. Discussion is how we learn more, but attacking someone for their beliefs, rather than discussing the issue is not the way to change anyone’s thinking about anything.
I don’t know why anyone would still think that name-calling works, but people do it anyway, and on both sides of the political aisle.

I love hearing about your horses and all the things going on at your farm, @Connie Bennett. I don’t know much about horses, except I really like them. I enjoy watching them on you tube videos and seeing them on farms. When I was young, my parents took us to Grants Farm in St. Louis, Mo to see the Clydesdale’s quite a few times. Years ago, at the St Louis ball games, they use to bring the team of Clydesdales out to trot around the field. They are magnificent horses.

I had 5 ponies when I was a kid. My dad brought home 2 adult ponies that turned into a family of 5. ;) We could ride the adult ponies sometimes when they were in a good mood, but for the most part those ponies were mean little bastards! My grandparents had 2 working horses. If my memory serves me right, they were Belgian horses. Grandpa took such good care of his horses.🐴

About a year and half ago, one of my neighbor’s decided he wanted a horse, which this old dude did NOT need, but that is how he rolls about a lot of things. Anyway, he bought a Friesian that was pregnant. She had the baby; a little filly. Oh my goodness, what a cutie she was! 😍 We watch the little one run circles around her momma in the pasture; testing out her new long stick legs. She had the cutest little whinny sound too. We went and visited her several times a day just to look at her. But after the owner weaned the filly, he sold both of them. I was so sad to see this little beautiful filly and her momma go. :cry:A few us neighbors got so attached to them. I wanted to move to Kentucky or Tennessee to live next door to a horse farm, after that!!

I am a bit perplexed about this statement. It seemed to me that several responded to your thread about horses. It seemed an interesting and successful thread, but then it was abandon. I guess I am confused what you were expecting in conversation. All I have is my stories of the past that involve horses. About the only thing besides age that I have in common with folks here and they wish to discuss, is my medical problems.

I think when we have special interest and we post about them, we have to find ways to get others involved. I thought your horse thread was interesting and received very well. I would be well pleased if any of my threads got as good a response as your horse thread. We use to have a member, Tex Dennis, that was an avid horse owner and trail rider as well as an events participant in things like penning. I wish he would join here again as I think you would have a lot of interesting conversations with him.

Maybe @Yvonne Smith knows how to contact him. The old SOC had a very long and successful thread about trail riding @Connie Bennett. Maybe you could rename your thread to include things like trail riding, cattle horses, rodeo horses, Hollywood horses, and anything doing with horses.

I would love to indulge in horsey conversations. I don't have horses to ask specific questions about any more but I can discuss stuff. I have used senna tea to relieve collic and one winter the whole barn had it from gas from the hay, I think. I used grapefruit seed extract to heal white line disease.
I had ponies for pony parties, a show saddlebred, an Arab, a show Tennessee Walker who could canter next to a person walking by us. I worked in a couple of horse barns and dairy farms....

@Mary Stetler that’s a great tip on the sen a tea and the grapefruit seed extract🤠🤠

Up until a few years ago, I did my own sheath cleaning, unless the vet was here to do teeth and the horse was drugged anyway. My one shoulder is shot and I can’t stay bent over for too long, so the lady who owns the Arab that is here, did both horses. My SIL is an oncology RN so has seen a lot, BUT she had never seen beans the size of peach pits removed from the sheath or urethra 😂😂. She was ashen and transfixed 😂😇😂😇

The Boys are 15 and 30-ish so not their first “wagon burnings”. They did great - we didn’t get bit, kicked, or stomped on😇😇

I suspected one of two things went wrong with my IPad— either I was hacked or the SIM card went bad. It was the SIM card.

It also turns out I was qualified for a new “free” IPad and cell phone. We all know there is no such thing as free, but it was a pretty good deal, so I now have a new IPhone and IPad.

So far the new IPad is a painless transition. I was told iPhone 17 will also be painless.

I was in Verizon nearly two hours, which was longer than expected. I had 15 gallons of farm diesel in the trunk of the Saturn and was glad the temperature only got to 77 with low humidity.

I was too tired to stop for something to eat, so it may be Boost for supper🙄🙄
