My last iron lasted for nearly 40 years!

It dripped a little on occasion, just a few drops, thanks to falling off the ironing board a few times over the years, but boy, did that iron ever pay for itself!

When I'm ironing I always use a cloth as caution , as newer irons are so unreliable with heat @Madge Bumstead
I’m mainly wear black pull on strides in winter and the newer iron leaves shiny marks …

Katey, I had the worst experience with my new iron.

Worked great when I first got it, then it started leaving tiny little red rust spots on light coloured clothing. I did a repeated, fill with white vinegar and water, heat, then shake and pour out routine with it.

So far so good, and according to reviews I have read, others have had the same experience.
