Please, everyone, if someone has a question about how to find their way around here or how to do something, and you think you have the answer, please help them out. If you have something you'd like to ask me about without posting it in a public thread, feel fee to bring me into a conversation or you can email me. I do have a admin(at)seniorsonly.club address now.

All of that takes time, but if you tell me who the spammers are, I'll take care of it. Looking at the list of members thus far, I think I can guess who it is, though. I have toggled the 50 year requirement, which wasn't the default, and I will be setting the forum to require manual approval rather than automated approval via email, which was the default. I left that set because I knew we were going to be on the road and I didn't want you guys to have to wait for me. Once, I'm settled, I'll toggle that, and will be replacing automatic registration with the Q&A CAPTCHA that we used on the old forum. That takes time to set up though, in writing questions and every imaginable correct answer to them, so that it confounds the bots without confounding genuine registrants.

I have a question, and I'm not sure where to go for an answer. When I did my introduction message (which I can't find now), I was told that discussing American politics was not allowed on this forum, this website. Yet I see discussions of American politics in the forums. Could someone clear this up for me?
Maybe you're confusing Seniors Only with "the other senior forum." They don't allow politics.

You've not posted an Introduction here, Paul. You DID post some info about yourself on your Personal Profile. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of.

It looks like you posted an introduction on the other seniors forum back in August, and have not posted anything there since that first day. As John Brunner said, you have not posted an introduction on SOC at this time.

We allow just about any discussions on this forum, but do not allow personal attacks, just discussion of ideas, thoughts, and issues politically.
Welcome to the SOC forum, @Paul Couillard , and if you need help, just ask the greeters, or just ask, and anyone who has an answer will try to help you figure things out here.

Politics is fair game here, and we're even allowed to disagree as long as we don't become too disagreeable. It's hard to do sometimes, and I sometimes fail as well, but it's best to discuss the issues we disagree with rather than the people we disagree with. In other words, personal attacks against other forum members are discouraged, but insulting political figures who are not members here is okay.
