Yeah, I think some of his bombast is real ego and some is just to make his opponents upset. It is quite amusing to see a lot of his opponents rant and rave aimlessly about his stuff. I, too, would trust Trump and his supporters more than I would any of the "Democrats" that are poised to run against him. Harris is leading in the polls and she has bankrupted the DNC with her first run. Imagine what she could do to the country. AOC and her degree in economics in all likelihood cannot balance a checkbook and doesn't know what side of the equator Venezuela is on. Imagine what she could do with foreign policy. Mayor Pete had trouble managing a medium-sized city and has no real private sector experience, and has a prolonged paternity leave to add to his record of public serve. Nobody really missed him while he was gone. I could continue , but my point has been made. A pretty face or a lack of credentials qualify you for the Democrats, who appoint their candidates rather than position them through primary elections as their way of supporting "democracy".
 
Trump has been like a bull in a china shop. I think it has always been to keep everyone guessing. Like when news people ask what he is going to do next in Iran. He can't tell them. Are they nuts? You don't pre explain your battle plans. He definitely has plans, like a 3d chess game.

Why you wish for all of the politicians on both sides to be confused is a mystery.
In that case you were likely a spelling teacher, thus intending to confuse the students,
and now you probably wish to confuse the forum members. Quite sly and calculating you are.

Ed's ok, John Walker. It is the political climate that is bad and the world is under pressure to collapse with the help of Muslim invasion and western generosity. I blamed it on Soros and the WEF and the UN of all things. But then there is mob mentality. Say something often enough on the news and after a while it becomes true to the masses. They are using our laws against us.
 
Some keep wiemering on like spoiled Disney Princess who can't get everything that (they think) they want. So they suggest sitting on their thumbs at election time while making contributions to the confusion by repeating that "the grapes are probably sour anyway."

I suppose they feel that their stands are principled but I'd suggest they consider that it might be time to cowboy up, get better informed about their negative opinions, and consider the serious alternatives they face through stubborn recalcitrance.


It's almost as if they are still gobbling up cable news sound bites designed specifically to move people into these positions. It seems to be working, these seeds of TDS appear to be sprouting in fresh soil today.

When funding to corrupt governments, organizations, and individuals is cut, Democrats refer to it as "withholding funds," as if it were their money and we're not letting them have it. This may be true, to some extent, when it comes to Iran, but tax money that was once handed out to these entities is a gift, not an entitlement.

It's like the people who are pissed at Musk for "defunding USAID." No he didn't. He uncovered the fraud that is taking resources out of the mouths of those "in need." Why would you be anything but grateful?

It's much like the grifters in the private sector living large while those they purport to be "helping" continue to crash & burn. The woman who was head of Black Lives Matter lost 3 homes in the LA fires. SHE BOUGHT THREE HOMES IN LOS ANGELES!!!!!

One other thing...the Federal government has no business sending dollars to the states. People applaud Trump's withholding funds from universities because of DEI, but the Fed should not be sending them money in the first place. It's all so corrupt.
 
True, the federal government sends taxpayer money to the states to bypass the constitutional sovereignty of the states. You're not sovereign when you're taking a handout that comes with expectations. State sovereignty is generally good for those who live in that state, so the federal government is using our own money against us, while the states are abrogating their responsibilities by accepting it.

I think Nixon start that with Community Block Grants form the federal government to the states, supposedly because the feds were more efficient at collecting taxes than the states were. Perhaps he knew it would later be used by the fed to control state governments. There has been highway funding since as least the Eisenhower Administration and the development of Interstate highways. The highway funding withholding was what Reagan used to "persuade" the states to bump the drinking age to 21 years. Federal funds are now a big hammer that Trump is using to bring states back into line. Allowing the Blue state residents to deduct their state taxes form their federal taxable income was another of the loophole closed by Trump and that has made those residents realize how much they were being taxed, and Democrat politicians in Blue states don't like it much. They considered that tax break an entitlement.

And I am very happy when "sovereignty of the states" are bypassed. Of course, I live in Alabama where the state has a most unenviable record of sorry actions in the past- both recent and traditional.

And with the inevitable election of "Coach" Tommy Tuberville to governor of Alabama after he has demonstrated such constant ignorance and limited verbal ability in his time in Congress, there is much more reason to "bypass" anything coming from the state government of Alabama- just sayin'.

I vote and I speak and I express my thoughts- and if others don't like or approve, that's their problem.

I love the climate and country here. I love most people here. I love the Gulf of Mexico coast here. I detest the politics and the low-minded people who promote the politics here- always have, probably always will.
