Prison Blues

If you're looking for pants that will last a long time, Prison Blues will do the trick. I bought my first pair a few years ago, and bought two more a few months later. They use a double-knee construction, with two layers of denim over the knees, and include suspender buttons like all denim pants once did, but few do now. However, if you're looking for something that will fade and get soft after the first couple of washings, these don't do that. They do eventually soften some, but remain stiff through several wearings and washings, and are also slow to fade. They are work pants, not dress pants, but you won't have to replace them often. They come in different price ranges, but you can expect to pay more than $50 for them, and I haven't looked into the differences between the less expensive ones and the more expensive ones.

I get nearly all of my clothes from Kohl's. Or at least I used to when we lived half a mile from a store. Now that the closest store is 16 miles away, in city traffic, I don't go there as much. But I can buy them online. They used to be cheaper, but having to add the cost of gas to drive 32 miles just to see if they have what I want (and quite often they don't) makes online the better option.

I used to buy all my clothes at Penney's before they shut down nearly all their stores. I don't like clothes shopping, so would always go to the same place where I knew the brands, sizing, etc. Penney's is gone but I think we may have a Kohls the next city over (20+miles.) I'll have to give them a shot.

I may have to try a pair of Prison Blues. I have a pair of khaki work slacks I wear to do stuff around the property (Tractor Supply special), and they're getting a little thin.

I always liked their clothes. I buy two pairs of shorts and four pair of sweats (all TekGear) and I have a bunch of t-shirts that C bought on Black Friday of 2022. She over did it a lot, as she had a bad case of Terminal Spenditis. It wasn't just that she couldn't pass on a good sale. She simply did not have "Too much is too much" in her vocabulary. She never bought one of anything. For example she was looking for big and tall men's t-shirts for me, and saw some Beatles Abbey Road t-shirts. She knew I like the Beatles, so she bought me 20 of them. 20 identical white t-shirts with the famous photo of the Beatles crossing Abbey Road.
