Possible Dividend of $2000 for Americans this year

President Trump has been talking a lot about lowering income taxes for people, as well as giving a $2,000 dividend payment to middle and lower class Americans.
This would come from some of the tariff money we are receiving from the tariffs on other countries. Apparently, congress has not approved it, but President Trump says he thinks that he can work around that and send out the dividend payments anyway.

One of the questions that people have about this is the use of the word “dividends”, as opposed to the stimulus payments people received during the covid pandemic.
A dividend is something that a company pays investors on a regular basis, so many are wondering if this is something that the president will do when we have surplus tariff income ?

Once the fraud is stopped from the Somalians and other non-Americans that are here and getting a lot of our government money and benefits, we will be able to live a lot better.
The housing market has been flooded with illegals and the foreigners on a work visa who are renting, and even buying houses that we Americans are not able to afford anymore.
The cost of food, fuel, and just about everything else has skyrocketed because of all of the illegals here. As they leave, or are deported, the cost of living will go back down and housing costs will be more affordable again.

The government will only be helping truly eligible Americans, so we will be able to get the national debt down faster. As we are dropping out of some of the worldwide programs (like WHO) we are spending less money there, too.
So, I think that it is likely that we may receive tha dividend payments sometime this year.

These things often come with strings attached that make them worthless to anyone except those close to or below the poverty line. We'll just have to see if any of the proposals that come to fruition don't have the same strings.

I was pretty disappointed in the result we got from "no tax on Social Security" that turned into a radically means-tested extra add-on to the Standard Deduction. I start SS in two months, and I can already see how much of it will go into taxes and Medicare IRMAA surcharges.

And no, I'm not rolling in dough. Single filers take a real beating under our tax code.

I never get enthused over these handouts, stimulus payments and stuff. Like Jacob, we are usually just past the "cut off" for eligibility and don't get anything anyhow. We are not wealthy but somehow we manage to just miss out on these programs. I hope it happens for a lot of American families, though.

President Trump has also started savings account for new babies. I am not sure how that works, but I think it starts out with about $1,000 in the account when they are new born. Other people have pledged to match the amounts, too; so this is a great thing for people who are just starting a family to do.

I hope they have this set up so that the parents can't withdraw and spend the money.

SSI is basically an insurance workers' pay into or their spouse's when working.
Unless this is a socialist nation rather than a republic like it was meant to be, no baby should be automatically getting 'free' money.
Parent should be responsible for its care.
