I like to look at snow, out the windows of a nice warm house, in movies or photos (I have some real beauties), etc. But I never want to live in it ever again.

This is pretty much my thoughts, too, @Axel Slingerland . I grew up in north Idaho, and lived most of my life in places where it was really cold and lots of snow in the winter, and I have shoveled all of the snow that I ever want to have to shovel.
I don’t like the hot and humid summers we have here in Alabama, but I appreciate not having to deal with snow.
If I did ever move back to Idaho or Washington, I would want to live in town, where I could order groceries and pretty much not have to go places in the winter when it was snow and ice everywhere. This is how my driveway in Bonners Ferry looked in the winter, and it was a long ways out to the main road.

When I lived in Auburn, my heating costs were high and when winter was over after about two or three weeks, my AC costs were higher. So I can understand that as well.

And, just think, we are looking forward to moving back to northern Colorado, even with the winters that they get. The summer heat here is simply too, too much for us, along with some other things we don't like. Funny, but we couldn't wait to move out of snow/freezing temps, now we are going right back to both.
We've only had to shovel snow once and that was when we had our house in Colorado. Then, after only one winter of doing that, we bought a small gas/oil combined snowblower. But, still had to shovel sometimes. Unfortunately, during our last winter there in Colorado (2006), the snowblower ran out of gas, I grabbed the wrong gas can (gas only), instead of the gas/oil mixture, and the snowblower engine locked/froze up.
In our last apartment complex in northern Colorado, we didn't have to shovel at all. The complex maintenance people done all of it. Before getting a garage to put our old 2005 Durango in, we did have to clean the snow off of it in the parking lot, as well as clean the snow off of our boat at the Storage it was at.
Luckily, we didn't get rid of any of our winter clothes, Snow Rake/Broom (that we used on our vehicle and boat) or Ice Scrappers.

Our storm didn't turn out to be as bad as they said it would be. We had a bit of snow this morning, but not as much as we had two days in a row a few days ago. However, I'm glad I started shoveling even before it quit, because it turned to sleet before I was done, making the snow much heavier than it was at the beginning and making it stick to the shovel. Fortunately, I was more than half done by then. Had I waited, the whole job would have been like that.
Our Internet has been down since early last night, long before the snow started. I don't know what that's about, but I'm glad that I have a hotspot and an unlimited data plan on my phone.

My daughter just flew back home yesterday to the Netherlands, and she said they have snow there, which they very seldom have. It is more like happens here in Alabama, there is no snow equipment, and no one has snow tires, and even a half inch of snow can shut the whole place down.
For her, this might be a good thing, because if her work place is closed, she can take an extra day and recuperate from traveling. I looked at her radar, and it looks like they are still getting more snow where she lives, so it might stick for a while.

Those one inch snows are the worst. Slippery with no depth for traction.

We got some snow overnight, but not much. I haven't measured it, but I don't think I'll bother to clear it for a while. A much bigger snow is predicted for tomorrow. I am debating putting the snowblower on the tractor. It sure makes clearing the driveway easier for an old man. Wife says that if I put the blower on, the snow will not come, but if I don't, well get buried.

Sounds like the one winter, and only winter, we lived in Huntersville, NC. We knew they got some snow there and "some" is exactly what happened that winter of 2007/2008. And, most-to-all of Charlotte closed down. It was only a couple of inches.

This past Saturday, we ordered new Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain tires for the '21 Durango GT. The Goodyear tire store didn't the tires in stock, so we have to wait for them to come in. We had the manager come out to our Durango and check our tire tread and, which we didn't know, the tires are the same ones that were on the vehicle when it was sold new in 2021. The tread wasn't too bad, but the dryness here in the summer, had put some cracks, which would eventually, separate the tread from the rest of the tire. The manager told us, "just like what you see on the side of the freeway that came off of a big-rig tire.
Anyway, we knew we'd need new tires before our move back to Colorado.

5 inches of fluffy snow overnight and it is still snowing lightly. 6 to 12 additional inches are predicted tomorrow. We'll see.... Some of the issues I will address in the tractor thread.

Hummm, "tractor thread"? Now, if that is about a farm tractor, I'd really be interested. John Deere is our favorite, but I remember most of them from my high school years.

There is a tractor thread here @Cody Fousnough. It was started by @Jake Smith. I have a John Deere, Jake has a Kubota. @John Brunner has one as well, but I don't know the make. @Mary Stetler also has one but I don't know if she posts much about it. Maybe others. If you live in an apartment, you must be talking about past operations.

My John Deere has a front end loader, belly mower and back blade with it. I have a few lawn tractors. I use the JD to cruise and pick up guys.

After nearly 15 years of cutting 7 acres with the belly mower, I finally bought a zero turn. I should have done it years sooner. It does 10x as good a job in less than 1/2 the time, and keeps the hours off of the tractor.

We got about 13 or 14 inches now from this storm and we are due for another storm on Friday. There was some fear that it was going to be 3+ feet of new snow, but I think they are now calling for another foot to 15 inches. We'll see. It is supposed to be -30 F. or lower tomorrow night.
