I'm full of pet peeves, so I'll add another one: loud people.
You've probably heard them in a restaurant, when you can't carry on a quiet conversation because people at another table are invested in making sure that everyone in the building shares their enthusiasm for whatever it is that they are laughing and screaming about. Just a few moments ago, I was sitting here upstairs, with the windows closed and the television on, when I heard what sounded like a crowd of people coming down the street. Being the terminus of the Appalachian Trail, Millinocket often schedules concerts, festivals, or whatever at Veterans' Park, just south of here, and sometimes there are parades, so I looked out the window to see if I could figure out what was going on. It was three young women walking down the sidewalk, laughing and talking at a volume that suggested they were yelling at someone across town.
