Of course most insurance companies will try to get out of paying any way they can.
I never had a car stolen but I have had 21st Century blame me for a minor accident that wasn't my fault. The other driver made an illegal left turn in front of a "No Left Turn" sign & hit my fender. The insurance company told me it was my fault & tried to raise my rate by $1,800.00. They also complained to me that they had to pay the other driver $2,500.00 to fix his car and mine. I said, "Good; serves you right."
I left 21st century & went to another insurance company. When they tried to bill me for a "Cancellation Fee," I used their postage-paid envelope to mail them a bunch of laughing faces.

I'm thinking, "If I found the cause in less than one minute on the internet, why couldn't a bunch of doctors find it??"

When I saw the urologist for a Rx refill, I told him about the problem, expecting him to say something like, "Yes, I should have told you to watch for that side effect." Instead, he just said, "Well, that usually happens right away." What BS. I told him how I eliminated one drug & reduced the dosage of the other drug. He said, "OK, good idea."

That's one hint about why many older people have falls.
Another cause I learned about when chatting with some of my elderly friends: As soon as their patient's blood sugar goes up a bit, their doctor immediately puts them on diabetes drugs to lower it. Blood sugar can go up as we age, along with everything else that starts to wear out & become less efficient. Lowering blood sugar in older people introduces the risk of lows, which are far more dangerous & often lead to falls.

That’s exactly how hubs BP was ..about the same as your readings , I’d constantly say why don’t you try halving the tablets ? but he simp,y said …well why did the doctor give me there’s if he didn’t think I needed them …well because they get a spin off for pushing pills that’s why
He was quite often dizzy standing , but was never dizzy if he was sitting @Tony Nathanson
So he still can’t figure out why he passed out while sitting driving , we’d not left the dance where he had a AF attack about 2 hours before ….he'd taken a pill 80mg ..think they are Carrol …he drove from the dance to Costco ..fine …..which is about 10 km ..he got out put fuel,in the car he had no sign of a woosy head as he calls it ….he drove about 5 km from thete and crashed

Other drugs often prescribed to older people can also contribute to falls - like blood thinners - notorious for causing both falls and also GI bleeds, both can be fatal. My dad died of a fall. His doctor put him on blood thinners. The reasoning is that thinning the blood prevents a clot which can travel to the brain & cause a stroke, But it's not that simple. It also raises the risk of a stroke caused by bleeding. I took my dad to the ER three times for GI bleeds. The third time, the doctor told me, "Another minute or two, he wouldn't have survived." By then, I did some research on blood thinners & I asked the doctor if he should stop taking them. He said, "No; he needs them, they're preventing a stroke."
When we got home, I tossed them in the trash.
 
Hubs is also on blood thinners ….and I’m 100% in agreement with you @Tony Nathanson
He had to get them changed recently because he was getting bad blood noses every day ….and at night
 
I’m tapping my foot waiting for 9 am to phone our insurance , I’m sick of phone calls from a place called Car biz had 5 missed calls from them on Friday , and 3 yesterday as well as 3 text messages …informing me to call then ASAP …so they can replace the car who HIT our car after we’d come to a halt ….I can’t understand what that’s got to do with us ? i thought that’s why we pay insurance , for them to sort out those things if we have a accident ….ive never ever claimed Insurance as I’ve never had a accident , so maybe that’s how it works ….ill know for sure after I phone our insurance

How annoying, Kate. I know you're ready to have this business done with. In the USA (or at least in Texas), once you inform your own insurance of the accident and submit a claim, they handle everything. When my husband was hit by the teenage driver a few years ago, we dealt with our insurance claims adjuster ONLY. You are correct; that's what you're paying the insurance company to do.

We got a email from our insurance company yesterday to say …..Good Morning…..Congratulation’s you are entitled to a brand new car
( Nissan ) to replace your wrecked car, we was informed to take our number plates from the old one the the roads department ,to get the remaining balance of our yearly registration refunded ( balance of $170 ) and hand our number plates in

It will,take up to 4 weeks to,get the car we want ,a gunmetal grey the same as the old one , ours was 2020 ..new ones are much better in the way of being economical fuel,wise, as it’s a hybrid
If we had to buy the car it would cost us $50.000 , when we bought ours , it was the second from the bottom of the range ….( it was what we could afford )with no debt ….this one’s far better but the bottom of the range of 3 Nissan Qashqai, they are a SUV , my hips giving me issues
since we got the temporary car, that low to get in and out of ….
I believe the Nissans are made in the UK

We wa given 7 days to retrieve any further items for our car, and traveled to the city to get 1/2 dozen things hubs wanted that he’d added to the car after we’d bought it ,like lights under the bonnet / lights in the back part that came on when when the back was lifted the normal size spare wheel ( replaced by the skinny spare that came with the car )
Hopefully know in a week when to except to get the new car

i always liked having a full sized spare too.
 
We are picking up our new car on Monday it’s registered and insured ( our cost for the insurance ) it’s coming with replacement dash cam front and back , tinted windows ( because we had the same in the wrecked Nissan ) but the 12 moths new registration came at the insurance companies cost
The insurance told us they no longer offer new for old on cars insured from new ,it’s only covered up intill the cars 5 years old ….to qualify for new for old , unlike the coverage we had on the wrecked car that was 6 1/2 years old

I’d never ever want to experience an accident ever again .

Our new car was made in the UK on 1st July ,so it’s spent most of its life on a ship making its way to Aussie land 🤣
depending on if it was shipped to Melbourne ( Victoria ) or Adelaide how long the journey would have been , including unloading / trucking to various car yards / outlets

It’s called gun metal grey , it sorta silvery ,that photo was taken after it had been sitting in the dusty auction yards for over a month , I think the new one may be a little darker …I know from seeing a photo it has more black ( black grill ) TBH we never seen one in GM as yet……
because they are fairly new on the market
The car yard had a white one we could have had right away but nah ….we wanted the grey one
