Our Aversion to Snakes and Spiders

It's not clear enough to tell, and I'm probably not familiar enough to know the difference anyhow, but I'm thinking maybe a wolf spider. They are among the most common large spider that really wants to live in your home. If so, while they look dangerous and do produce venom, they are harmless to people. Rather than relying on webs to trap prey, they roam your house seeking out ants, cockroaches, and insects, but are more often found in crawlspaces, basements, or rarely accessed places.

The pest control service was here ~10 days ago because “things” now seem to want in the house where it’s comfortable. I think this one got disturbed from the crawlspace.

It wasn’t moving all that fast. Probably its size kept it from being wiped out from the pesticide. It was too big for me to smash, even if I had wanted to kill it, which I did not.

I have seen wolf spiders, and yes, this could’ve been one. It could also be what they call a grass spider because it had stripes around its legs like a grass spider does. Either way I was able to get it in a pail and heave the pale and all outside into the yard. The lid flew off so it got out maybe it died outside I don’t know. I just know I’ve lost my appetite for several days. 😂😂

Not sure this will post. Internet and my IPad have not been getting along. Did not use Imgur. I wish this forum would allow direct uploads from each person’s Cloud.

If this posts, I’ll explain.

Okey dokey. I am pretty sure this is a grass spider and it is every bit as big as it looks. Imagine my surprise when I let the dogs out about 11 PM last night Tuesday, came back to the bedroom and there she was sitting on the floor, right where I walk. Thankfully, I did not have a panic attack. I put a bucket over her, captured her and threw her out the door bucket and all..

Here’s what I think happened.

The pest control people brushed the eaves of my house with some sort of pesticide at my request because it is spider season and the spiders want in the house.

Somehow someway, I think this one got really disturbed from its nest even though that was 10 days ago, she made it into the house through the opening where the cable is for the TV. I was not about to smash it and it was moving so slow, I almost thought it had been affected by the pesticide, but as big as it is managed to survive.

I have only seen a spider this big once in my lifetime and that was when I was about 26 years old in the basement of our Ohio home. I am pretty sure this spider is even bigger than that one was. All I gotta say is, I’m glad it wasn’t aggressive. It was a very calm. I will never be able to un see it inthis or the next lifetime.myimgs.org
We call them 747's. You are right. They are huge by comparison They come to the basement occasionally but I usually un alive them. The things I hate are centipedes. But I try to restrain myself as they eat spiders.
