I rarely put a lot of faith in reviews ("I just ordered this and they've not even shipped but I'm sure I'll love it so I give it 5 Stars!!!"), but 100% negative feedback for a Seller is a big old red flag. That being said, I, too, have talked myself into charging forward in the face of contravening reality.

Did you put it on credit card? Maybe you can have the charge reversed.

Has anyone else noticed that you can no longer just browse products on Amazon without logging in? It just started happening for me a few days ago. I open Amazon and search for a product, and am prompted to log in in order to see the search results. The other odd thing is it recognized my browser, because it prompted my email address to send a security code to.

I'm always logged in automatically, so I haven't come across it yet. That would seem like an odd feature, though, because if someone is not already signed up with Amazon, they would want to see what they have first.

This is not happening for me. I opened Safari (that I never use) and went to Amazon where I am not logged on. I could search for and browse anything.

I have Safari and just tried to view an item on Amazon as a test — which I never use Amazon.

It did in fact ask me to log in. I did not log in and never will.

I just went to Amazon with a browser I rarely use (Edge) and was able to browse without logging in. I then went with my daily browser (Firefox) and searched for the same product, and was prompted to log in.

I never have been asked to log into Amazon. I use Chrome on my laptop and Edge on our desk top computer.
Have you ever used either of these browsers to log into your account?

I just checked and I do not save Cookies/History for Amazon...they clear out every time I close my browser (which I do every evening before going to bed.)

Well, I went in and manually cleared the Cookies for Amazon and can now browse the site without being prompted to log in. It's weird. I've never had this happen before. And Firefox automatically clears that stuff out when I close it every night. I have no idea what's going on.

It sounds like if you've logged in to Amazon using whatever browser you're on, it knows you have an account and prompts you to log into it, but it otherwise allows you to view the site and decide whether you want to create an account.

Nope, never had to log in on either browsers. The only time that I can remember having to log in to Amazon is, when we had dumped ALL the cookies on the computer.

Maybe your account stays logged in...? On Firefox, I'm always logged in on Amazon; it says "Hello Beth" on the top right-hand corner of the website. Even if I close Firefox and re-open, my Amazon account stays logged in.

Since I never use Safari I had not logged in to Amazon so it still shows the "Hello--Sign In" at the top but it does not require me to log in to browse the site.

I think you are right! "Hello Krystal" is always showing on the top right, when I visit Amazon.
