There is a feature on Google where you can search on an image. It's very handy.

Click that, then either Browse your hard drive for the picture or Insert a web link to it (just like Uploading a picture here.) Then Google searches the web for that pic or for something that looks like the object in the pic. I've seen folks buy a box of junk at an estate sale, take pics of some of the items, and use Image Search to identify what they are.
