DH is outside now installing a cig lighter in the back section of the car for the fridge, so we are nit getting tangled in cords everywhere it will be neat and tidy with NO wires showing
( he puts it under the cars lining ) so all we will see is a plug ( cig lighter )

    @Kate Ellery @Beth Gallagher

You two have me thinking about getting one of those. I shop 25 miles from home and grab lunch while I'm out, so stuff sits in the heat. One of these might come in real handy.

They are very nice; ours is the Dometic brand. They are a bit pricey but can be used with 12 volt or regular household current. I just looked up my old order; we paid $500 in 2015.

Amazon. CLICK! Appears to be discontinued but there are newer models on the Dometic website. Also, there are tons of smaller, less expensive units like "truckers' fridge", etc.

Thanks. I'd want one closer to Kate's (21L.) My car has a cigarette lighter accessory outlet in the rear hatch area.

By way of price...yours is 39 quarts. A current 35 quart Domestic model is $680.

I saw the 45 liter model is $859 on Amazon but the description doesn't mention 12V. My car has a utility accessory outlet in the rear hatch, too. It's a 2012 model.

Ours is a 21 Ltr … it cost $620 from a shop called tent world/ camping shop ….. in Canbera , we looked at a 13 Ltr but it was to small for what we wanted to carry in it when traveling ..drinks / butter / milk bread

Good idea for keeping food nice and cool John , I but frozen stuff from Costco like blueberries as well as some meats

    Ours 12/ 240 volt fridge / freezer

We are happy with ours think it’s around 11 kg so even I could lift it

Out car is a Nissan Qashqai 2020 model

So far as I know, that option only appears when Amazon itself is doing the deliveries (not UPS, USPS, etc.). They seem to have a big warehouse not too far from us, so they'll often deliver ... then send an email with a picture of the delivered item at our door ... and ask for our opinion of how it was delivered ("good," "bad").

My delivery tracking page shows, in addition to the item(s) ordered, a map, and a little "bus" icon that moves around the streets and specifies how many stops it is from us.

UPS has that option, but you have to set up a UPS My Choice account to get access to it. It shows a little brown truck on a street map. UPS does not tell you how many stops are before yours, you just get a 3 hour delivery time window. Being in a rural area and not the suburbs, the map does me little good. The truck drives right past my road early in the morning heading to the north part of the county, and he won't make his way back south until later in the afternoon. The only thing it's good for is for me to give him grief over the way he drives ;)

With UPS, it depends on the type of service. I think regular UPS Ground shipping does not get the fancy little "truck on a map" thing, just the notification of pending delivery "between this time and that time". I have had UPS MyChoice for several years, even the paid version for a while but I don't pay for the upgrade any longer.

I'm pretty sure it does (since none of my deliveries have been anything but UPS Ground), but it's been a while since I've received anything via UPS. Walmart seems to have shifted to FedEx, and Amazon is either USPS or Amazon Delivery.

I forget to say / admit we didn’t buy the fridge online …..however we spent 2 days on and off doing research online on what suited our needs / fitted in the car

Then we went out looking at what we’d picked out

When we had the caravan we had a Engle fridge / freezer think that was about 29 ltrs but we really don’t need anything that big anymore
