One final thing about this video that I like --- aside from its extreme silliness --- is that the last snippet, Old Town Road, is by Lil Nas X, who is a rapper. Which I think Illustrates the historical evolution of blues-and-folk-and-country, into rock-and-James Brown-and-so-forth, and then from there onward through a weird chaos of heavy-metal-and-rap, until finally arriving back at country! So yeah, the circle definitely remains unbroken. ┏(^0^)┛┗(^0^)┓
I confess that I stopped paying attention to new popular music at the start of the 80's. I'd listened to local radio each morning throughout the 70's while getting ready for work, and still love the songs I heard then. The station was of the old fashioned kind that played several genres --- folk rock, country rock, disco, and some R&B. You'd hear Rita Coolidge and the Eagles and Bob Seger and Donna Summers one after the other. Very interesting soundtrack for those years!
Beautiful song! The version I remember best was by Joan Baez. I loved her folk/rock and her country albums equally well.
I liked the way Greg Alman sang the song more blues type. Joan was ok and I liked some of her songs too but not a big fan of hers.
