"The husband grabbed Dot and made a dash for it," said one of the workers. "Morse the pity," said another.
I did not want to start another thread so am putting this here. I am amazed and in shock of the number of crimes in our area lately. Police shootings, shootings of three people or more, killings of small children. Geeezus, what the heck is going on? this type of stuff normally does not happen around here on a regular basis. Now it has become an everyday happening and scary. Road rage shootings have increase also.it was one thing to read about somewhere else but now it feels like a piece of Detroit has moved in. Then to read the headlines in other places ... Person in pet store stomps to death a bird because they would not give refund on a bird that was injured after bought. Always has been crime and always will be but it has gotten much worse it seems, especially here. Very sad to me
Are you convinced that it's actually happening more and it's not just a matter of it being reported more? Part of what some areas are seeing is the result of the "We hate the cops" crowd. Lots of Congress critters are in that camp. Criminals are emboldened. edit to add: A great example of hyper-reporting is the Stranger Danger thing. Life was NOT safer when we were kids. Stranger Abductions were way more frequent (although not really commonplace) than when the scary commercials started being aired. I had a little classmate attacked in broad daylight as she was walking to elementary school one morning. We may have stayed out past dark, but that does not mean we were safer back then. We were not. The media creates reality.
@John Brunner possible both. But these things Here do not normally make the local news channels. Maybe the local little paper, but not news channels . Regardless even police here say crime has increased here.
There is and has been a spiritual war going on.... good against evil. Evil is being exposed all over the World right now...but we can have peace even with everything that's going on. God wins this war...place your faith and trust in Him
