How often we should shut down our computers?

I dunno,I feel like im taking advantage of my computer leaving her running constantly.. She doesnt owe me anything so I shut down when Im done and pull the power to it. I do that because I listen to AM radio and the power supply causes interference on the dial.. (It puts a high pitched squeal from from 530 to basically 1600)

I close WIFi on laptop right before bedtime.I drop WIFI on phone, turn off sound, before going to sleep.
I do not tun the phone off except every Friday morning , for an hour at least, I do not turn off phone at night, in the event one of us had a medical issue, and in need of ambulance. Otherwise too long to come on and set its self.
Also after every update laptop or phone, I always re start. Only because I read on Tech pages long time ago, this helps the phone. Regardless it's a routine now.

I put my computer to sleep during the day when I'm not using it because it uses less electricity that way. However, it still uses some electricity, so I turn it completely off when I'm through using it at night.

I used to close the lid at bedtime to let it sleep/hibernate, but have not done that in a long time. I restart it whenever it seems to slow down and when Updates need to be installed, but that might be every few months...or maybe even more infrequently.

I'm surprised at the Mac users here who do it often. Microsoft Windows does a poor job of deallocating memory when you close a program (so available memory constantly reduces and a restart is required to free it up), but I thought that Mac products did a better job of this, so rarely required a refresh.

I might start doing this more often since I had a solid state drive installed a while ago...there is no physical wear in "reading" it to reload stuff.
