Hate Trump - Love Trump - Don't Hate Trump

Oh, look. Another pearl of wisdom. Do me a favor and don't tell me what I understand. Your stupid antics are beyond aggravating, which is your goal so congratulations.

You'd probably be shocked to learn how many people have no idea what the Supreme Court is supposed to do.
Good morning to all-

My, my, my aren't we testy this morning?

And perhaps someone needs to favor you with what you seem to understand- or misunderstand,

Perhaps my "stupid antics" are a bit beyond your comprehension. And I am totally indifferent to your "congratulations" in this or any other matter.

And I would not be shocked to learn anything about how ignorant people are about the way our government is supposed to work.

And my goal is to express what I see happening and what I think about it all. Whether you or anyone else approves or not is a matter of total indifference to me.

you all be safe and keep well- and confusion to the republicans

Trolling, Trolling, Trolling…….. again.

Good afternoon to all-

What a clever statement. I have nothing to offer in response.

Here's a suggestion- if you think my words are trolling, why don't you refrain from reading what I write? You will be happier, I think, and I won't mind it at all.

As I have said many times, I don't care what anyone here- or elsewhere- thinks about my words and thoughts. I see, hear, and state my thoughts- that's it. I don't seek permission, and I don't seek approval.

Along the same lines, Beth, Trump has often done this against other people, as well. As long as they agree with him on everything, they're fine, but the first time they disagree on whatever his issue of the moment is, they become the scum of the earth, and we're all supposed to view them as being "liberal" or "anti-MAGA." It's like he attacks one issue at a time without continuity. The way I see it, that understandably drives whoever his target of the day is further away from him, and often, the bulk of things with which they were formerly in agreement. If there's a strategy there, I don't get it. Anyone who agrees with another person on absolutely everything doesn't have an opinion that's worth listening to.

I believe this is probably what happened with Elon Musk. As long as Musk played along with the Trump agenda, all was fine. But eventually those two egos clashed and things got bumpy. Plus, Musk is much richer which probably annoyed Trump... :D

MAGA is a dangerous, revolutionary movement that is destroying the values, traditions that caused many people to formerly admire America.

Do you have any idea how absurd this is? Conservatives by definition hold onto traditions and family values, protecting personal liberties including speech, religious freedom, private property rights, and personal accountability. MAGA is actually a small percentage of true conservatives, but you'd rather paint with your broad brush of ignorance.

I am not MAGA, but I certainly do believe in Making America Great Again. Any American who does not should be ashamed.

Everyone knows that PBS is extremely liberal and bias. Always has been.
Good afternoon to all-

Excuse me, but any time someone says, " Everyone knows..." we can dismiss what follows as inaccurate at best and lies most of the time.

PBS is a very solid, well-researched and honest presentation of the daily occurrences. If the PBS system does not support the machinations of the First Felon and his MAGA minions, that's because PBS is doing its job. They are not supposed to support ANY president or political party. They are supposed to question one and all- and they do.

If you don't like PBS, then go listen to FOX- now, that's an honest, unbiased source of information...

Yes, fascists heavily rely on a mythic past to sell their agenda.

This political strategy is widely recognized by historians and political scientists as palingenetic ultranationalism—a core characteristic of fascism that promises a national rebirth after a period of perceived decline and decay.

Fascist movements use this idealized, often fictionalized history to manipulate public emotion and justify authoritarian control.

## How the Mythic Past is Used

* The Narrative of Decline: Fascist leaders argue that the nation was once pure, powerful, and dominant, but has been corrupted or humiliated by modern influences, liberal values, or minority groups.

* Creating an "Us vs. Them" Binary: The mythic past establishes a historical baseline for who "rightfully" belongs to the nation. Anyone who does not fit into this romanticized history is labeled an outsider or an enemy responsible for the nation's current suffering.

* Justifying Extreme Measures: By framing the situation as a desperate crisis of survival, leaders convince followers that democratic norms must be abandoned. They argue that only total obedience to a strong leader can restore the nation to its former glory.

Historical Examples

| Leader / Movement | The Mythic Past Invoked | The Promised Rebirth |

| Benito Mussolini (Italy) | The grandeur and dominance of the Roman Empire. | Reclaiming the Mediterranean as "Mare Nostrum" (Our Sea) and building a new Italian empire. |

| Adolf Hitler (Germany) | A fictional, racially pure Aryan past and the medieval First Reich. | Purging "impurities" to establish a thousand-year global empire (the Third Reich). |

Ultimately, the fascist appeal to history is not about preserving actual heritage or objective facts. Instead, it is an emotional tool used to breed resentment, unify a population through shared grievance, and pave the way for totalitarian power.

To explore this further, would you like to examine how specific modern political movements use similar historical narratives, or would you prefer to look closer at the psychological reasons why these myths are so effective during economic or
social crises?

Good afternoon to all-

Ken- I agree.

What the poster copied and pasted makes a point I understand, and in fact, I agree with, but I much prefer such concepts to be phrased in individual and personal terms and in "real people" language.

I spent a great deal of time in my misspent youth reading college textbooks- and that's what the previous poster's stuff reads like.

When I see stuff that seems disjointed and copied and pasted, my mind simply dismisses it as irrelevant to the discussion. I do much the same with AI text and speech. Once I recognize the AI characteristics, even if I was previously interested, I don't want to read or watch any more of it.
