I think the Wandering Jew is an inside plant in our locality But I put all my inside plants outside in shade for the summer just so I can finally clean the plant room!

That looks like a type of what used to be called "Wandering Jew," Jacqueline. (Not sure what the PC Police is calling it now.) It makes a gorgeous hanging basket. I'm surprised that it struggled indoors because they usually do well in filtered light. Very pretty!

I don't have the package anymore .... I think it was green string beans !

This year they were bushy but last year climbing ones ....both were good . I prefer the climbing ones ☺️
 
Good morning to all- It's nice seeing all your crops coming in. Our gardening summer is gone, gone, gone. With our humidity and hot nights, nothing except peppers and okra grow now.

But I am starting to clean out the wreckage from spring palmita and get ready for fall/winter planting.

We grow much more garden stuff in fall/winter than we ever can in summer.

Good morning to all-

I am making arrangements right now to set up my starting flats and grow-pots for my fall planting. I am looking to start a bunch of broccoli, and probably a few cabbages. Also some spinach plants in starters. When I direct seed spinach, nothing happens. I'll most likely buy a big bundle of collard plants to put out. I may set up some supports and plant a pretty big snowpea frame. Of course, my fall green beans are coming up, but I have to water most days with soaker hose- heat and sun are intense.

I have to find a secure place inside under the AC for starting fall crops- much too intensely hot outside- cool weather plants don't like 95 degree heat and 90% humidity... The biggest problem with starting plants inside is that our cats take a great deal of interest in starter flats and soil.

Our satsuma trees are bending over and hanging heavy with fruit. After last year's zero crop of oranges, I'm ready for some satsuma mandarin oranges for juice and out of hand eating- great things satsumas are.

I am contemplating a new attack for next years gardening. Daughter was going to try different fencing but didn't set it up this year. Turned one side of garden into a mulch pile with acres of grass clippings. Will make that a potato/maybe carrot plot. Hope the food pantry will be ready. Need to remove sections of nettle, sadly. Now that I have a crop of beans doing well in containers/raised beds at home may skip large garden for those next year and just get home use of the beans. I wonder if all I should do is pumpkins and squash in the big garden to remove temptation from rabbits who flipped over or dug under wire screens to get at them this year. Maybe set up a permanent asparagus plot within the garden. Have them in my food forest now.

We are beginning to move things into our bucket garden. Some things do very well there--squash, tomatillos, and potatoes especially. We decided not to plant taters in the ground this year at all since it is so much more work than pots or tubs. I planted all determinate varieties, but wife's favorite potato is allegedly indeterminate so she is managing that. Our pumkins are still in the ground.
