Gardening

Love all your garden photos @Jacqueline Lindt I’ve never heard of that Apple in Australia , did you check if it needs another Apple nearby to set fruit/ pollinate ( I’ve got 3 apples ) 2 of which are planted together in one hole for room mainly

Last week I bought a young pear to go with a Williams pear I planted 2 years ago ..it wasn’t setting fruit so I did quite a bit of research online and found it to needed a pollinator …..so I got this one it’s still sitting where it going to be planted ….we just about pray for rain here …but it’s been raining almost everyday in thr last month

New one is called Dwarf red princesses pear …..the Williams is a a standard pear you see in most shops.

Copied this ….

This exciting NEW DWARF PEAR variety is one of the members of our latest collection, the Summer Crunch® Pear range. This variety is an Aussie selected pear which we have put our classic PlantNet® touch on it by offering it to you as a dwarf. You know what that means – small tree, BIG fruit.

Take home the next generation of pear varieties available to the home gardener, with better-than-supermarket quality fruit that you can grow in any backyard.

The Dwarf Red Princess™ Pear is perfect for the backyard, the patio, a courtyard, or a balcony in a pot or in the ground. While fruit is sweet and crisp off the tree, leaving it in on your counter for a few days will allow it to soften to melt-in-your-mouth delicious! The colour of the Red Princess™ pear will be enhanced with more time in the sun.

Pair this variety with any other Dwarf Summer Crunch® Pears – SunGold™, Cool Crisp™, and Sweet Reward™. If you want to pair it with a traditional variety, choose Dwarf Williams, Dwarf Packhams Triumph, or Dwarf Buerre Bosc.

Thanks @Kate Ellery ! I have 2 Apple trees but there not the same type of apples .

Do they need to be the same type ? 🤔

In the photos that I posted , one is a dwarf Apple tree but the other one isn't ...I will have to look into that online .

Last year when we bought the dwarf Apple tree there was one Apple ...hoping for more this summer 🙏

Will post future photos even if nothing happens ! ☺️

I have not done anything in the garden becasue it has been pouring down rain for most of the last week or two, ever since I planted the new raspberries. I went outside in between the storms long enough to check the raspberries, and they are starting to leaf out, so that is good.
It looks like no rain for most of today, so I may be able to venture outside again, and maybe get the new grape vines planted along side of the archway trellis in the back yard.

I bought a rosemary plant at Bunnings , planted it in a pot and it’s died , however I may have occidentally found out why while mixing up a watering can of seasol in the effort to save my plum tree , it says on the bottle of seasol do not use on Mediterranean type plants like rosemary
I did … it may regrow after winter …it cost me $6 for a small plant 🪴

I wish I were near you @Kate Ellery. I think I have about 100 rosemary plants. They don't survive outside here in winter however. I way overplanted them this year.
