I think games, played on senior forums, are not only way too juvenile, but also the death of a good discussion forum.

There are 10s of thousands of all kind of game apps, many requiring skills and thought, available, so I don't see the juvenile games played on forums being of any substance. Maybe a section, so gamers here could meet other members here and get them on their favorite apps and also discuss them here, but to play games so simple preschoolers could play them, doesn't seem like a good use of forum space. Just my unsolicited opinion. 🤣
 
You are entitled to your opinion Faye, but I totally disagree with you. The games section is part of the forum and you don't need to browse the section if you don't want to. I have made some good friends on the games section and we often have a laugh. You might think the games are juvenile but I think they are fun. Stop being a grumble and let others enjoy the games section.
 
And time for the creepy crawlies to emerge ,with all the very long grass around from a very wet winter ……it’s very likely there’s snakes just around the corner 😨, it been a bit of a smorgasbord for the black birds 🐦‍⬛ in our front garden catching little drop tail lizards and a few grubs
We’ve been sitting in our bedroom bay window that’s tinted so we can sit and watch them come and go while enjoying a cuppa

Seen quite a spat between 2 Willy wagtails and a couple of magpies a few days day …..Magpies ended up leaving ..but not the bossy boots otherwise known as W.W’s

In my view, unsolicited remarks, particularly condescending ones, are juvenile and require zero skill or thought, and... aside from falling into the playschool category, they do anything but bring members together to create a good discussion forum.
 
@Milly Robertson How does expressing my opinion on a discussion forum, make me a grumble? Also how does it interfere with anyone's fun? It doesn't and nothing is going to change on the forum because of my post. Simply expressing my opinion.

@Madge Bumstead A discussion forum is just a collection of opinions. To say my opinion is condescending certainly shows a lack of understanding about forums and certainly what constitutes juvenile. If you disagree, tell us why? How is a game like I post a word and then you use the last letter of it to make another word, anything but juvenile? It is fun for some, but it is juvenile. Start a game that requires much thought and nobody will play.

It is said that people get more juvenile as they age, so maybe simple quick spam gaming is a good thing on a senior forum. :LOL:

The game section is here because people enjoy playing the games; most, or at least many, of those who play the games also post in other parts of the forum, and for the others, the games section puts them in a position where they might one day be tempted to participate in other forum discussions. Arguing against playing in the games section is akin to saying that seniors shouldn't "waste time" with adult coloring books, reading books that aren't strictly educational, knitting, whittling, or doing anything else that doesn't promise to feed people or save the world in some manner. I think it's probably a given that whatever it is that you might want to do, there will be someone who considers that to be a waste of time. Other than our vote, which will be cancelled out by any number of illegal voters or corrupt counting, you might even say that discussing politics is a waste of time. Those who don't believe in God will consider religion to be a waste of time. It's our time to spend however we wish, and arguing about it is a waste of time.

I’m up early today ….its because I went to bed at 5.30 pm , we’ve been so busy all week I was exhausted by 4 pm yestetday ….i went to give hubby a kiss goodnight at 5 pm and he was asleep as well ,sitting out in the family room , so called watching stuff about football 🏉
According to my apple watch I slept 10 hours and 15 min 🥱
 
Thanks Milly , hubs has another Dr appoitment ( BP check ) today ….think it may be checks ups connected to the pacemaker

At least he has a drivers licence back ( 100 km limit ) so he can drive himself a grand total of 7 kms to the doctors today
