OK.... I have been too lazy but I have NO choice but to get my but out there and take some pictures while there is still a large mound.. Not tomorrow, Tuesday but perhaps on Wednesday.. Tomorrow is another snow day...
 
I made a video of the snow around the house but it is too large to post it on here.. They won't let me..
I tried a few times...... It is almost 3 minutes long...
I don't have any photos, just the video...
What do you suggest ?????
 
I have trouble with photos Steve as I mentioned a few days ago ….I'm not tech minded enough to advise you regarding photos issue
I’ve tried a few times and photos have posted …then I try again after adjusting and they say ….nah to big ….

However @John Brunner will put you on the right track regarding posting photos ( not sure about videos ) he will give you excellent advice

Hey, Steve. I see that @Kate Ellery pinged me on this. I don't believe you can upload videos here directly from your hard drive. The only way I am aware of to post videos here is for you to load them up to YouTube and then link to them here. I've never done that, but I found a brief tutorial:


If you click on the Media icon (not the Insert Image icon)in the toolbar, it lists the various Social Media accounts you can link vids from, but I'm not familiar with any of that...and I don't believe those sites will take vids of any great length. But I'm not certain.

So now I've told you all the stuff I know nothing about, maybe @Ken Anderson has other ways of doing this.
 
Somehow member are posting musical videos that are much longer than mine... I also posted a musical video by right licking on the video, copy, then go to the new site and paste.. It worked but this one won't do it that way...

Are you talking about posting a video that you have on your hard drive, or posting a video from a website? Which website? I can right-click on a YouTube video, select Copy URL, paste the URL here, and the video shows. The length of a video that's linked from another website does not matter.
 
I have a video that I made from my cell phone and I transferred it to my computer and I have an icon on my desktop.. I tried to put it in here but it is too large. It is 3 minutes long with my voice... That is what I right clicked, copy, and paste on here that was refused as too large.....

You can't put videos on this forum that way. There are some where you can, but they are few and far between, and they have specific reasons for preferring it (I've actually only seen one that actually prevents links to vids hosted elsewhere, preferring that you host it on the forum.) You gotta upload them to one of those social media sites listed in the Media icon. Pics/photos are a different story...they can be linked from the web or uploaded/saved here.

edit to add: It looks like the forum software evaluates the file size and then it evaluates the file type. That's why you got the "File Too Large" error. If it had done so in the reverse order, you would have seen a message to the effect of "Invalid File Type," because it is not an image file.

Look........ I took a video of the huge mount of snow we have up here.. I really wanted to post it on here so everyone can see for themselves.. Seems like I can't post it, so be it as it may, I tried with no success.. My intentions were good but the results are not..

You need to post the video to your YouTube account , @Steve North . Once it is posted on YouTube, then it can be uploaded to the forum. Otherwise , videos can’t be uploaded , so you would need to take a regular photo and post that here instead.

I have a YouTube account, but I never make any videos for YouTube with it, I just watch videos there.

1-Just so you know, email has a file size limit to attachments. There are other ways to get the file to you. If you want help with it, ping me.

2-Regarding a "You Tube Account." I signed up so I could log in and post comments. Do I need to do anything other than sign in with those credentials in order to upload videos?
