Faith Talk

The Holy spirit helps us to discern what is true and right
from what is unhealthy and wrong'. With Him,
we have every resource to walk in hope and wisdom.

"Whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction.
so that through perseverance and encouragement
of the scriptures we might have hope."

Romans 15:4

@Mary Stetler The Bible is unlike every other book. It is meant to be read with our heart. Reading in the Psalms and the four Gospels are good places to begin.

Revelation is from God to man, inspiration is man to paper and illumination is paper to man. The entire process is governed by the Holy Spirit. (link)

Use your circumstances to strengthen those around you.
Talk about the hard of it, and the beauty
that most certainly comes from ashes.

"I Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven,
for all His works are true and His ways just,
and He is able to humble those who walk in pride."

Daniel 4:37

I quit trying to just read all the way through long ago. I sort of jump around.
Funny thing I learned recently: The book of proverbs is just Proverbs! Whodda thunk? I never read it all the way through before.

All that's left of the Temple worship, is the book of Psalms. It is their hymnal, with directions for the choir master, and the music. "Selah" is a term mixed in that means "stop and think about it", or "pause". I love reading the psalms from the Message Bible! (note: the Mickey mouse Club, always had Jimmy singing about the Proverbs in the Bible.)
"Proverbs, proverbs....they're for YOU, Proverbs, tell us what to DO"!

God does not fit into a human-box any more than a house cat fits
in an air-box. Let Him show you who He is and what He can do.

"Great is our Lord and abundant in strength;
His understanding is infinite."

Psalm 147:5

You never know until you need it, how rich
a memory bank full of Scripture truth can be.

"This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth,
but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be
careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will
make your way prosperous, and then you will have success."

Joshua 1:8

God is the kindest Father you could ever ask for.
He can be trusted with every piece of your heart.

"Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, in His arm.
He will gather the lambs and carry them in His bosom;
He will gently lead the nursing ewes."

Isaiah 40:11

Feelings, even anger, are natural. But with the grace of God in motion
we can learn to respond instead of react.

"The anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God".
James 1:20

Perhaps fandom of this world is put into place
so that we can experience the true level
of what passion for the Lord could look like.

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your might."

Deuteronomy 6:5

Love means caring very much to respect who the other person is.
The Lord, in His amazing Love, does this for us.

"Love is patient, love is kind."
I Corinthians 13:4

Jesus is our ultimate goal-reacher.
He has been there, right at the beginning where we began.
And now He sits victoriously in heaven!

"Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy set before Him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and has sat down
at the right hand of the throne of God."

Hebrews 12:2

The Holy Spirit is our trailblazer through life. Without Him,
people are wandering and confused. With Hin, it may
not be easy...but it will definitely be safer and more sure.

"You will make known to me the path of life;
in Your presence is fullness of joy;
in your right hand there are pleasures forever."

Psalm 16:11
