Exercise, Walking, Etc.

It's been raining today, and, while I wouldn't mind walking in the rain, it has also been windy and on the cool side, so I will have to hit the elliptical glider instead.
 
I didn't activate my pedometer today, but, I walked farther than I have in a long time. I did so the other morning while waiting for my son to pick me up to go to my pulmonologist. Today I exceeded that by walking all the way to the University just beyond where I live and back. The weather turned out to be rather windy, but the sun was a blessing.
I feel great tonight. And, for once, I ate a decent dinner instead of 1/2 sandwich, a couple of cookies and tea.
 
I must think about rerouting my walk because of the growing number of hobos and bums that plague the parks and part of my rural walk. This morning I saw one peeing right out in open view in one of the walking parks. I saw another tent setup with a pile of :poop: near it. The flies were encircling like buzzards on roadkill. :mad: I walk for cancer suppression exercise and mental relaxation and that kind of visual really puts a damper on my willingness to walk the extra mile. :sneaky: I cut it to 2 miles this morning. I had to get home and wash my eyes out with visual amnesia soap. o_O

Ugh. So much for peaceful tranquility during your walk. If you haven't already, it might be time to invest in a pepper spray or some "deterrent" to keep yourself safe, Faye.

I carry pepper spray and a knife in my bra. Sadly Amazon does not sell lasers powerful enough to remove offensive appendage from 100 feet away. I am thinking a paint ball gun, but with acid instead of paint. A chemical castration seems in order in my way of thinking.

If this continues, I will dress in camouflage and arm myself with weapons of ass destruction. :sneaky:

I am taking the rural walk this morning that starts on rattlesnake road. I double dare the hobos to set up camp in that area.

I am looking for a taser that I can mount in a walking stick. Another thought this morning walking, is an armed drone that follows me around.

I made 3.5 miles this morning and saw just the one hobo camp with garbage everywhere. If I wasn't a law abiding citizen, I would see if anyone would take me out to the rez so I can purchase some M-80s. I could launch them from a slingshot. I was invited yesterday to the annual Pow Wow out on the rez. Maybe I could learn the war dance.
 
Three times 10' walking back and forth barefoot in the 20' hallway, plus watering fruit trees.
I would love to walk & run outside again but the modern shoe heels wear out so fast these days.
Also the raised up heels are ridiculous. I'm curious what brand & model shoes you like that tend to last longer.

How long does it take you to get things out and in position?

What are you wearing, how does it wear out, what kind of walking do you do?

I wear the New Balance USA made 990. They last twice as long as any other walking shoe for me, even the Asian made NB 990. Well worth the cost.

@Ken Anderson Great idea but some of the new prods aren't powerful enough. Being able to knock your assailant down on the first hit is paramount.

Warm this morning so an early walk may be in order.
