I am planning to give myself a crank round loom. Any particular brand you can suggest? Any item -besides scarves and hats- to create with this tool? Thanks.
It knits "for you". IAW, once you have treaded the loom you turn the crank to made the wool to go on front / back of each peg to complete the rows .
My mother-in-law used to have what she called a "knitting machine." I don't believe I ever saw it but she made some lovely things. I always wanted to learn to knit; maybe I should do that before arthritis spoils my chance.
I used to have a Knitax knitting machine....among the first ones ever made ( 1965 +/-)....My siblings and I used to make our pull-overs and scarves. I wish I had one now.
Are you thinking about something like this one, @Silvia Benoit ? It seems like I had something similar to this many years ago, but I never really made much with it. I might have made something easy like this hat, but I never tried any of the more complicated things that you could make with it.
you can get a sentro at jo-anns yarn store or they have the more expensive one they call the addi---they make pretty hats and scarves in 30 minutes you can also make blankets and sweaters---the large addi is 44 needles the small one is 22 needles --the small one you can make leg warmers or skinny scarves--i have made a lot of hats for nursing homes and the homeless--but my blankets i make by hand--the blankets made on the machine is a little more complicated
my oldest son has one a sentro knitting machine i sent him. he makes hats and scarves for abused children---you also can make toys ---i notice a lot of men are using the machine-- and at the abuse center they are thankful to get them--my son has sold several sets that he has made--the sentro has 48 needles --if you need instructions every thing is on you tube
