It is the penalty we pay for free speech. I am sure that CNN knows it is not being truthful, but it has an audience of largely stupid and naïve viewers. Most American media refers to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) but it is, in fact named the ISLAMIC Revolutionary Guard Corps. As the video notes, Islam is the important part. It is not Iranian, although it is in Iran.Iranian excile channel.
Unfortunately, yes.Dos anybody believe anything that is said on CNN?
Some of the polling analysis is real and the weather is real, but I wouldn't believe any of the political news stories unless you can verify it form at least two other independent sources. If the headlines and the dialogue is the same or very similar in the sources, the story is probably at least partly or mostly made up and a script has been circulated to support a point or idea.Dos anybody believe anything that is said on CNN?
Sure, as long as the vast majority of other news agencies are talking about the same thing. Even if it is totally Fake News, if everyone is saying approximately the same thing, there must be something about the underlying story that the governments of the world want us to believe. Whether you agree or not is the one real freedom you have that nobody can ever take away from you. Your ability to make informed decisions and believe whatever you want. Even if other people disagree with you. So what? You're free to think however you like.Dos anybody believe anything that is said on CNN?
What's your point? I believe Shirley was talking about CNN, so a single news agency. Of course they are in lock-step with all the other liberal outlets, down to the parroted "reporting"."A news agency" is only one news agency, not "the vast majority of other news agencies." One agency would be a minority...![]()
My neighbors do.Dos anybody believe anything that is said on CNN?
She posted immediately after me and did not quote anyone. Typically, that means you're talking to the last person who posted before you, so I assumed that she was talking to me.What's your point? To which I replied "Sure, as long as the vast majority of other news agencies are talking about the same thing."Dos anybody believe anything that is said on CNN?
Which is true, but one is not a vast majority. And that was my point. One is not a vast majority. But when a news agency is repeatedly caught lying, it's hard to believe anything they say.
There are some reliable channels on YouTube, but many are, as you said, fake news that somebody wants you to believe or they have just posted stuff that people will click on. Edit: I'm sorry, Don. I didn't realize I said what you said in a different way... I agree with you about AI "news" channels. That is why I always tell people not to get their news on the YouTube Fake News Network.
Merely clicking on them isn't enough to make them happy campers. They want you to like, subscribe, ring the bell and watch all videos all the way to the very end. That's how they make money, and that is why there are so many videos with Clickbait titles. They're fishin' for clicks. I don't fault people for having found a creative way to make a living, specially from home. It's the deceptive and false information that irritates me.There are some reliable channels on YouTube, but many are, as you said, fake news that somebody wants you to believe or they have just posted stuff that people will click on.
Several doctors have told me that if you need to look up anything medical online, the Mayo Clinic website is the best choice for accurate information. My old Neurologist in Eureka had been a Neuro since the 1960s when he retired in 2015. He told me to look up a bunch of medical term that I had heard but didn't know what they meant, and write them down and what Mayo Clinic said they meant. I did that and when I showed him the list, he said all of the words I had randomly chosen were accurately described.Just like medical stuff, you have to make informed decisions.
There are many reliable websites in addition to the Mayo Clinic. For cancer questions, this site at MD Anderson (where @Beth Gallagher and several of my friends have been treated) is a good source. It is in blog format so you have to look a bit. The Cleveland Clinic is good for cardiac questions, and, of course, you can go to PubMed but it is sometimes not written for the lay person.Merely clicking on them isn't enough to make them happy campers. Unfortunately, about 80% of what you see on YouTube is Clickbait. It can be entertaining, but like you said, you have to make the distinction between entertainment and BS. And there are millions of people who blindly accept that BS as fact, and refuse to do any fact-checking. They take things as fact, just because "so and so" said so. And that's just stupid. As you said, there are many reliable channels, and you can learn a lot from them.

I remember seeing all the liberal news broadcasts were lined up like the Brady Family set up and all the 'news casters' were reading the same script.Sure, as long as the vast majority of other news agencies are talking about the same thing. Recently there have been AI Dr Berg, Dr Berry and others on youtube. It is clear to all who have been following them that they are fake by what they are saying and how they appear, but we worry about new folks thinking they are the real people.I have now seen that many are working on creating AI "news" channels that are totally made up and false. As we move into the election season, this is being ramped up to deliberately deceive. I think that most is now concentrated on YouTube, but as it gets better they are working on ways to "plant" news on X and Reddit and other places where people go to verify stories. I have seen totally false and made up political stories and ads that are at least partly AI-generated using old videos, clips and sound bites that often are not even originally about the subject addressed in the ad or the story. I have seen these ads on Tubi and the "old people's channels, such as Antenna TV and Binge. It is going to get harder and harder to determine what is real and what is AI as the propagandists hone their skills.

There are several YT videos of this happening, all with different examples of what they are saying in the same words. This happens all of the time. Facebook is very biased against conservatives, and you have to really look to even find them on YT now, although there are still some good information channels on there.I remember seeing all the liberal news broadcasts were lined up like the Brady Family set up and all the 'news casters' were reading the same script.
Anti Trump and Conservatives.
