Hi there - I never have had 'figgy pudding' When I heard the song I just loved saying figgy puddin' - still doHave you ever had figgy pudding, @Patsy Faye ? We sing the song, but probably very few of us here in the US have ever had a figgy pudding, or even recognize it if we did have one.
We have a fig tree, and I love eating the fresh figs, and have added them to my fiber cakes, but never in a pudding. I am not even sure if the word pudding means the same thing to the British as it does to us ? For all speaking English, there are a lot of words that we use differently here.
Hey @Patsy Faye …good to see youWishing you all a lovely Christmas ............ I love Robins and this one has had too much Christmas pudding !

Thinking on it, it could be Christmas puddin' - I don't like that.
We say the word pudding, for a lot of non puddins - like, we may say, 'what's for puddin' meaning 'afters' or the posher
version - dessert. Its funny that we sometimes have different meanings for things over here and I much prefer your way of spelling, ours is complicated and unnecessary.
